PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Acxiom Corporation – Conway, Arkansas (1986-November
2014)

(January 2013 – November 2014)
As Product Director for the Data Services API, I collaborated with other Product Managers, sales,

Responsible for:

into a subscription based pricing structure)

Project Management best practices. I directly managed the following teams:
• Collaborative Messaging teams (Microsoft Exchange, Lync, Blackberry, Lotus
Notes) supporting Acxiom’s corporate deployment and six outsourcing clients.
• SharePoint (Global Enterprise implementation and one client implementation)
• Custom Web applications
• Clarity team – time management software
• Business Solutions Analysts

• Collaborated across multiple Acxiom teams (privacy, legal, other product owners and
delivery teams) and the client teams

• Defined business rules (hands-on analysis using Oracle)
• Qualitative client survey
• Use Case and collateral creation

Product Manager - Data Product Innovations
(2004 – 2009)
Until recently, Acxiom’s titles didn’t conform to industry standards. Product Manager most closely
resembles my role. My function was a combination of Product Owner, Lead Data Analyst, Data
Scientist, Tester, and Sales Support. I worked as a member of a team to deliver new product
functionality. I evaluated data sources, defined requirements, defined use cases, worked with
engineering to craft a design, helped define test cases, evaluate test results, and provided sales
support.
For each new Product Concept, I presented my research to our C-level leadership team. These
presentations typically included an interactive debate on approach and ROI.
Ideation
• I participated in and conducted ideation sessions
• I networked across the company to solicit product ideas
• I helped develop our ideation process
• I ranked new product ideas to help select next projects
• I regularly brainstormed with my team members
• I researched trends within the industry using various methods such as: reviewing
and subscribing to trade publications, attending webinars, attending the sales rally,
attending the TresNet symposium, talking to internal experts and scouring the internet
Extended Family Genealogicx Research (Being marketed as InfoBase Family Ties)
This project involved researching the capability to link people beyond their household to
extended family members. Use cases included Wealth Management applications, Insurance
applications, T&E applications and Retail uses
• I regularly interfaced with our Privacy and Legal teams – “Just because you can
do it, doesn’t mean you should”
• I worked across multiple product teams to create the prototype
Advertising Media Channel Preference (Being marketed as InfoBase Channel Preference)
Most clients have developed an omni-channel marketing strategy. This suite of InfoBase
elements identifies channel preference to assist clients in the right segmentation strategy for
their omni-channel marketing campaigns.
• Using syndicated survey data, I developed a suite of elements that provide a
decile ranking of heavy channel usage.
• I researched the syndicated survey data and other InfoBase elements to define
targets for an Acxiom Research Analyst
• Once the models had been built and adequately tested, I worked closely with
InfoBase Product Management to coordinate production implementation
Recency Frequency Monetary (being marketing as the InfoBase RFM suite)
Most retail clients measure lifetime value based upon these three measures. I noticed that many
of them were present on one of Acxiom’s data sources and worked with the Research Analyst
team and the InfoBase Product Management team to launch the RFM suite.
Consumer Prominence Indicator (CPI)
CPI measures a consumers’ marketing footprint which is highly correlated with response.
• Without a target (i.e. nothing to model to), I researched the data and created an
algorithm descriptive of a consumers’ marketing footprint.
• I conducted client tests to ascertain the descriptive properties. CPI is highly
correlated with a consumer’s propensity to respond to credit card ITA campaigns.
• CPI has been in production for several years.
AOS (Digital, Radio, Television, Mobile)
AOS enables real time marketing strategies to utilize offline demographic data to target
campaigns. Initially, the entire team focused on the Digital capability.
Digital
I was responsible for researching URL privacy statements for robust notification,
negotiating with the Chief Privacy Officer for the cookie setting data flow (When is data
considered PII and the rules governing third party cookie sets?), and initial evaluation of
cookie set metrics.
Radio
I worked closely with Clear Channel Executives and Ibiquity executives to define a
targeted marketing strategy for radio. We conducted a working prototype within the
Indianapolis market using radios with addressable chips. I eventually killed this prototype
because I couldn’t justify the ROI based upon the projected adoption rate within the
traditional radio market.
Television and Mobile
I provided backup support (as needed) to the other Product Managers for these two
prototypes.

A biliTec/BestAddress/ChangePlus
(2000 – 2004)
AbiliTec

production
ChangePlus
• I evaluated and documented the legacy ChangePlus system

ChangePlus product

conjunction with NCOA
BestAddress
• I successfully helped separate the BestAddress build process from AbiliTec
• I became intimate with Postal systems, rules and regulations
• I provided feedback and suggestions to postal team

• I provided analytical support to BestAddress product management and client
teams
AbiliTec Resource Center –
(1999)
I was selected by Charles Morgan (CEO of Acxiom at the time) to evangelize, educate and
help migrate clients to AbiliTec. I was a member of a six member team. As part of this project
team, I helped create training collateral, presented to teams throughout the organization and
provided regular updates to our C-Level leadership team.
S olutions Developer – Retail
(1999 – 2000)
My tenure on this team ended abruptly when I was asked to join the AbiliTec Resource
Center.
While in the Retail group, I worked closely with account teams across several high profile
retail clients. I also provided all of the application DBA support for a large mall property client.
This included updating the database with their weekly loyalty program feeds, producing
reports, interfacing with clients and various ad-hoc projects.
S olutions Developer - TeleTech/Utilities
(1997 – 1999)
While in this group, I retooled as a “Decision Support Tools Expert” and Oracle DBA. I regularly
worked with clients to craft campaign management solutions. I worked with both B2B and B2C
clients. My responsibilities were spread across multiple clients and prospects and required a
broad knowledge of BI tools including Oracle, Business Objects and Essbase.
While working on a retail client account, I retooled a 48 hour process to run in 30 minutes. I
became the dedicated technical support for this client and during an Acxiom reorganization I
chose to move with the client to the Retail Group.
M anager – GS/2000
(1990 - 1997)
GS/2000 was a complex production subscription fulfillment system with over 2000 programs that
spanned a custom online user interface, a batch file maintenance system, a backend reporting
system and the kernel. The system was purchased from a Media Services client in 1989 and was
incomplete. All projects required an intimate understanding of the system and the impact any
change would have on production clients.
Project Lead
(1992 – 1997)
In this role, I functioned as a hybrid of Senior Manager, Project Manager and BSA. I was
responsible for the success of the project. I managed the project team from requirements
gathering to final implementation. In addition to managing the project, I was responsible
for all Senior Management tasks including hiring decisions, reviews and expectation
setting.
Senior Manager
(1990 – 1992)
Using SDLC and Project Management methodologies, I collaborated with other Senior
Managers to deliver online enhancements utilizing a combination of dedicated and shared
resources.
S oftware Engineer – Advanced Systems
(1986 - 1990)
I provided Assembly 360/370 development support for Acxiom’s largest Financial Services
client. I was responsible for their scoring algorithm, custom reporting, etc.
