WORK EXPERIENCE:
Zimmark Corporation
COORDINATOR SITE SERVICES
Zimmark is a contractor offering fluid management for the machine tool & manufacturing industry. My job
was to take samples and bring to the lab where I analyze for quality, do the metrics make any
adjustments as may be required and record the data. I advanced to Site Services Coordinator supervising
several locations by doing spot audits, inspections, motivating and training of our employees. I also
reviewed our cost saving methods and was liaison between the companies we were contracted to work
for and Zimmark. Daily I reviewed the metrics and entered all data from these sites. We worked directly
with GM, TRW, and Metaldyne in locations; Litchfield, MI, Saginaw, MI, Grand Rapids, MI as well as West
Unity, OH and Fayette, OH.
Quincy Die & Engineering
OPERATIONAL COORDINATOR TOOL & DIE DIVISON
Hired in as tool room machinist, advanced to working foreman, full foreman and General Foreman.
Promoted to Operational Coordinator of the Tool & Die division. As such, hired and fired as needed,
maintained safety, quality and profitable tool build. Coordinated projects while working with engineering
on design and prototype, the actual tool build and following to installation and setup of the tooling/dies
with manufacturing to produce quality production parts. Although we did specialty work for several
companies, our main focus was on automotive; Detroit’s Big 3, as well as Toyota and Honda from Japan
and Sterling motors from the United Kingdom.
DAD Machine Manufacturing
CONTRACT SKILLED LABOR
This company had purchased several NC and CNC machines and had no one to operate them. I was
contracted to set up, run and train their employees. Although my contract was over they offered me a job
with the company but I had accepted a position elsewhere.
Whitting Corporation
QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTION AUDITOR
Started as machinist advancing to inspection and finished as Quality Assurance Auditor of Inspection.
US Army 1st T.C. Battalion ‘Sea Born’, Viet Nam
SECTION SARGEANT
As all, I qualified as Rifleman for infantry as well as Door Gunner. I also was certified as a Scuba Diver.
My primary job was sheet metal and air frame repair. I received Army Commendation Medal for increasing
production and morale through adjusting the scheduled shifts. Advancing to Section Sergeant in charge
of the second shift ‘Allied Shops Platoon’, (Machine, sheet metal, fabrication, paint and weld shops).
Perfection American Gear
FOREMAN
As this was a union shop, I got a jump on other graduates by starting to work fulltime on the 3 rd shift prior
to graduation. Began oiling and cleaning machine chips and waste. Advanced to machine operator,
setup operator, and as the company was closing this location and moving out of state I was able to finish
as 2nd shift foreman in charge of the ‘Turning Dept.’, Bullards, engine lathes, turret lathes and VTLs. I also
spot checked on the quality and production of ring and pinion set up in the “Getts/Zoom” Gear Dept.
When time allowed, also did short run production. This early supervision and multi-tasking proved
valuable training for my future.
