SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
I have been responsible for the daily supervision and operations of the phlebotomy department in my specified territory/location, including the daily operation and duties of phlebotomists and team leaders in and around my main laboratory location. I am capable of performing, teaching, and monitoring all functions within my department including but not limited to scheduling, specimen collection, labeling, receipt, processing, delivery, and archiving. Knowledgeable in LIS, policies, procedures, infection control and compliance issues associated with phlebotomy. Adept in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Familiar with payroll procedures, specifically KRONOS and Paycor.
Skills include drawing blood from neonates, infants, children and geriatric patients. Performing bleeding times, COC urine drug screen collections, paternity collections, breath/saliva alcohol testing, LCM/Cyber Tools, collecting blood cultures and starting IV's within the hospital exclusively in the Emergency Room and the Intensive Care Unit. Health and Wellness background includes, running Cholestech LDX machines,CardioChecks, DCA Analyzers, Glucometers, Ht, Wt, Waist & Hip Circumferences, Logging paper-based BMI and Omron Body Fat Calculations. I also have skill in running QC controls, specifically in regulatory states.
Confer with patients to obtain information for laboratory records, explain procedures, allay fears and elicit cooperation. Able to resolve client/patient/employee problems and complaints in a timely professional manner.
Utilize standard procedures for the maintenance of positive patient identification; record appropriate collection information on proper requisitions.
Maintain and quality assure inventory of supplies and regulatory manuals; update materials and reorder as required; stock supplies on carts and hand trays.
