• Pro/E • Ecotect • Radiance • eQUEST • MS Project

• Maple • FORTRAN • Matlab • Java • MS Office

ACADEMIC EXPERIENCES & PROJECTS:

Countertop Commercial Appliance Emissions for ASHRAE May 2014 - Dec 2014

• Determined the amount of grease particulate and vapor production from 21 electric countertop commercial appliances during cooking condition by EPA Method 5 (based on ASHRAE and ASTM standard).

• Based on the test data, calculated the energy consumption and determined the sensible and latent heat loads.

• Investigated comparative life-cycle calculations for exhaust and replacement air and energy required for removing heat and moisture with the design capacity of the kitchen general HVAC system.

Evaluation of Personal Ventilation and Chair Ventilation System for Carrier Jan 2013 - Mar 2014

• Tested the performance of two new designed HVAC systems -- personal ventilation system and chair ventilation system. Compared with the traditional ground air diffuser system.

• Generated the three system models in Pro/E. Based on parts of physical test data, simulated the performance of each system by using STAR-CCM+ software.

• Evaluated the ventilation performance in the micro breath zone, thermal comfort around Manikin, energy consumption and efficiency of three systems.

CFD Project: NACA 0012 Airfoil Validation Study Jan 2013-May 2013

• Applied the ANSYS Fluent for the mixing elbow heat transfer problem.

• Predicted the drag and lift coefficient of the airfoil at 17 different angles of attack in ANSYS Fluent.

Lighting and Energy Simulation of Chongqing Real Estate Building Jan 2011 - June 2011

• Simulated lighting performance in Ecotect (extended with Radiance) software, and simulated energy performance in eQUEST software.

• Analyzed the result and evaluated the lighting performance and energy efficiency. According to the LEED Green Building Rating Systems, determined the number of points of building certification.

The Potential Natural Ventilation of Residential Building for Vanke Mar 2011 - June 2011

• Determined the best location combination of six 30-floor residential building from five combination designs with different building intervals and orientations.

• Simulated the ventilation effect around the buildings in each condition. Based on the results, determined the best combination and simulated the ventilation performance of three standard floors (floor 5, 15, 25) in chose standard building.

• Generated 3D model mesh with Gambit software and ran simulation in ANSYS Fluent.

• Analyzed the natural ventilation performance of four apartments in each floor. Based on the results, optimized the window size and location.

Design of HVAC System for Office Building Aug 2010 - Oct 2010

• Based on the room function, calculated the heating and cooling load. Designed a central-controlled HVAC system.

• Formulated the fire protection system, water supply and drainage system for the restroom, and kitchen ventilation system for the staff dining room.

• Used AutoCAD to draw the designs.

WORKING EXPERIENCE:

Engineering training Program, Tianjin University, China Aug 2010 - Sep 2010

• Visited and learned about the productions and business of HVAC equipment industry.

• Experienced the manufacturing process of HVAC parts and equipment in the manufacturing shop.

Engineer Internship, Xinjiang PCC Design and Research Institute, Shihezi, China Aug 2011 - Nov 2012

• Experienced HVAC system design and water supply & sewage of industries, residential buildings and office buildings.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION:

• Basic Supply Chain Management Certification, APICS, Aug 2014

• Pursuing LEED Green Associate

HONORS & AWARDS

• 40% Tuition Waive, Syracuse University, Jan 2013 - Dec 2014

• Bronze medal in 5th Tianjin HVAC Innovation Contest, 2009
