Completed an assessment of the documentation and reimbursements of the inpatient population in
Behavioral Health. Developed a strategy to capture the SOI and ROM along with developing a strategy to
petition the state of AZ for full reimbursement.
Assisted CFO in contract negotiations with the contracted physician group that staff the 12 outpatient clinics
in and around Phoenix: Uncovered a 30% no show rate of schedule appointments as an aside to the
outcome of the analysis.
Defined the advantages of the new APR-DRG coding guidelines implemented in August of 2014.
Audited Emergency Room documentation, developed and implemented a program to capture the acuity of
the population admitted to the ER in real time.

• Ran the Day to day operation of the open heart team including triaging and running the daily operation to
hiring and training new staff. First assisting in surgery to participating in on going research studies.
• Designed & implemented a program to decrease Cardiac Surgery’s mediastinal rate. 6 months post
implenmentation the rate went from 12% to 4%.
• Designed & implemented a program to prevent pressure ulcers in the Cardiac Surgery pt population.
