Project CAscade - Business As Usual:

Description: A corporate action is an event initiated by a public company

that affects the securities (equity or debt) issued by the

company. Some examples of corporate actions are stock split,

dividends, and mergers. The project CAscade is all about

receiving announcement from a third party source whenever a

corporate action or event occurs and sending a notification

message describing the corporate action to the respective

Investment managers who are affected by that corporate action

.The system also focuses on receiving response from the

Investment managers and other mellon applications(WCA).

CAscade - Corporate Action Security Capture And Delivery

Engine. This Corporate Action processing system was designed

to support end-to-end processing of both domestic and global

corporate actions. This distributed application provides

business logic and decision support for managing the entire

lifecycle of a corporate action within a single platform.

Cascade - DataMart:

WCA application needs approved information from CAscade for

response processing. WCA interrupts CAscade Database and get

these details. This is a performance hit for CAscade. We

designed Datamart to reduce this performance hit. Whenever we

approve any of announce/holder/ response details in Cascade we

send an XML message to WCA. This XML message contains all the

data which WCA needs.

CAscade was designed to support end-to-end processing of both

domestic and global corporate actions. This distributed

application provides business logic and decision support for

managing the entire lifecycle of a corporate action within a

single platform. ASCT is implementing exadata to store CAscade

data on real time basis to improve performance of Workbench

Corporate Actions (WCA) & integrated Corporate Action

Notifications Report (CANR) and provide capacity for future

business growth. So far CANR is only showing data from GSP and

it is not showing CAscade data. The project 'Cascade DATAMART'

will setup a database on these servers that will be used for

WCA and CANR for an integrated solution. The scope of CAscade

is to provide approved information in the XML format on event

basis.
