Consultant 2013 - Did some consulting work with J&J Snack Foods at their

Country Home Bakeries.

Hostess Brands Inc. 2006- 2013. Plant Manager at Columbus, Georgia.

Plant employed a total of 450 people and is 300,000 + square feet; 5

production lines producing numerous varieties of soft cake, donuts and

fried pies. Plant Manager's position oversees production, sanitation,

engineering and quality assurance. Position also has dotted line

responsibility for human resources, shipping, garage and fleet.

1. Lean Manufacturing was implemented using 5-S processes which lead to

improved process, lower parts inventory and cleaner bakery.

2. WMS system was installed which lead to finished goods inventory being

reduced by 50%, improved order fulfillment and labor shipping labor

being reduced by 40%.

3. Production Management was reduced by 30%. Sanitation Management was

reduced by 20% and hourly head count was reduced by 20%. Engineering

hourly head count reduced by 10%.

Consultant, 2003 - 2006. Continuing to work in the bakery, food business.

I have worked with several companies; Flowers Foods, Gratechefs and

Schwan's Bakery Operations. At plant level I have worked to reduce costs by

analyzing current practices and implementing changes. Reducing waste as

well as improving the waste removal process. Improvement of start ups as

well as overall efficiency. Set up cost improvement teams to involve entire

plant as well as keeping plant motivated. Worked on a store pull up and

merchandising program. Continued to help with the process of closing out

the sale of Mrs. Smith's to Schwan's.

Flowers Foods - Mrs. Smith's Bakeries, 1986 - 2003. Subsidiary of $1.7B

Flowers Food Inc. Leading manufacturer of pies, snack cakes and specialty

baked goods. The Mrs. Smith's Division was sold in April of 2003.

1. Consolidated two plants and automated production line for Mrs. Smith's

Bakeries, reducing costs $14M.

2. Improved customer relations and divisional sales with new $50M

enterprise SAP program.

3. Reduced Finished Goods inventory by $30M when we consolidated frozen

food warehouses for Mrs. Smith's Bakeries.

4. Developed and implemented Good Manufacturing Practices, improving

product quality.

5. Centralized purchasing functions for Mrs. Smith's Bakeries, saving $5M

annually.

6. Redesigned transportation system for Mrs. Smith's Bakeries, reducing

transportation costs $8M.

7. Saved $2M annually for Mrs. Smith's Bakeries by improving productivity

and consolidating plants.

8. Consolidated office space for division with no additional cost to Mrs.

Smith's Bakeries.

9. Managed sales department with four business units for Flowers

Specialty Foods, combined the benefits of mergers and acquisitions

with expanded internal sales to expand revenue to $600M.

10. Analyzed product capabilities and identified untapped market in the

Bakery / Deli industry.
