Dec 2010 to Current: Technical Officer Plant & Properties,
Reserve Bank of Fiji
Duties Include
o Altogether Reserve Bank of Fiji has three (3) facilities that
are managed by the team. The main office is a 16 stories
building located in the CBD of Suva. This building houses the
vaults and banking area as well as all other functional areas of
the bank. Also three floors are tenanted by the New Zealand High
commission to Fiji. One other facility is an unmanned Data
centre and an archival vault. This building has fully automated
system including remote monitoring systems. The third facility
is the official residence of the Governor of the Reserve Bank of
Fiji
o Development and implementation of a strategic approach to
service standards to meet the Bank's needs for property and
plant effectively and efficiently
o Provide effective project management support to the Manager
Plant & Properties.
o Maintain the electrical backup system for Data centre, main
premises and server room. The system includes three (3)
generators, UPS systems and battery backup for emergency
lightings.
o Worked on renewable energy project for installation at the bank
to be a demo system and also to provide energy security during
crisis for BCP.
o Work on repair and maintenance of all RBF automated systems
including security gates, automatic doors and barriers, various
machinery, CCTV, Fire monitoring and extinguishing systems, and
access control systems.
o Monitor, operate and modernise HVAC system. Currently RBF is in
the process off modernising the HVAC system which was installed
30 years ago. Projects include BMS replacement, Pump
replacement, AHU replacement and replacing central system with
VRV/VRF type system and areas that are frequently used after
hours.
o Provide support towards consideration of appropriate outsourcing
of plant services where required. It includes preparing tender
specification document, seeking Management and Board approval,
and advertising, evaluating tenders and making recommendations.
o Provide a high standard of specialised internal service in the
maintenance of building, plant fittings and furniture in
ensuring that the Group.
o Provide quality-conscious and safety services to meet the
operational needs of the Bank.
o Assist in the effective monitoring, analyses and report on the
plant application of organization best practices.
o Evaluates and advises on proposed bank initiatives from an
appropriate plant management specialist and professional
perspective.
o Advice, monitor and report to the Manager on property and plant
management.
o Coordinating and developing the establishment of plant
operational process standards and improvements.
o Help, identify, plan and implement technological innovation.
o Liaise and source and procure plant and equipment supplies in a
cost effective and timely manner - both locally and
internationally.
o Installation of new plant gears and motor under the plant
replacement schedules. A major project includes the installation
of new electronic gate in a high security area.
o Comply strictly with quality control and OHS regulations and
requirements.
o Participate in collective advice and decision making on the
operational plans and resource allocation.
o Designed and implemented energy management policy for the bank.
2011 to 2013 Major Projects and Achievements
. Managed Server Room construction Project
. Design, Procure and Managed server room HVAC project
. Design, Procure and managed server room Fire alarm and gas flooding
system.
. Worked on new bank-wide call server infrastructure roll out
project.
. Completed RBF conference room AC replacement from a central type to
VRV type.
. Conducted an energy audit and implemented the Findings. Managed to
save around hundred thousand units of electricity when comparing usage
of 2012 to 2011 and managed to save thirty thousand units when
comparing 2013 with 2012. This was done by replacing lights, creating
more stringent BMS schedules and changing chiller set points for more
efficient chiller operations.

Duties Included
. Involved in planning, coordinating and decision making of printing
jobs from pre-press (graphic designing), printing of jobs, and
delivery of jobs and maintaining client relationship.
. Controlling the financial setting of the company ensuring budgetary
allocations.
. Marketing for the company that involves meeting clients and making
presentations.
. Servicing and repairing of all machines which included both mechanical
and electrical work.

2000- 08/ 2006: Technical Officer; Government Printing Department, Suva,
Fiji Islands
. Maintenance and troubleshooting electronic equipment, in particular
working on control circuits of various equipments, printing press
machinery, binding machinery, air-conditioning, compressor and
prepress equipment. Work included reading of circuit diagram,
Diagnosis of faults, ordering of spare parts and part replacement.
Some parts of certain machines were unavailable at times thus creating
the need for designing new systems to keep the machinery working.
. Worked closely with Heidelberg and AGFA engineers from New Zealand and
Australia. Assisted in installation of 5 new machinery with a combined
worth of over 3 million dollars.
. Designed fabricated tested and installed new control system for
Guillotine.
. Replaced the control system for film processor with new ones. Work
included changing of servo motor, sensors, actuator boards and
interfacing control system with main control board.
. Maintaining and installing backup power supply that included generator
and UPS.
. IT administrator for the department. Projects included complete CAT 6
network cabling and installation of complete prepress network for the
Government printing department.
03/ 2000 - 10/ 2000: Radio Base Station Technician; Elcom Services
. Setting up and installing of transceiver and antenna for Radio Base
Station.

. Troubleshooting problems in RTs.
