I am currently the Plant Manager for Green Plains Inc in Riga,

MI. My facility is a 57million gallon a year Ethanol Refinery and is

heavily regulated by the EPA, DEQ, and OSHA. I have been in

Management here for the last 9 years and prior to that I was

employed by Sunoco Inc Oil Refinery as a Journeyman Refinery

Operator and Plant Safety Rep. I have a total of 15yrs of Industrial

Manufacturing that includes strict safety protocols, water testing, and

environmental regulations. I am DOT certified and also have a

Greenbelt in Lean Six Sigma Methodologies. Also, I have a

Supervision Certificate with Leadership training and will definitely be

Plant Manager

• Since construction I have been an integral part in increasing production from 50

MGPY to 59 MGPY

• Direct, coordinate, and oversee all plant operations within company policies and

procedures, and ensure tasks and directives are completed as assigned.

• Utilize a CMMS system to track all maintenance activities, inventories, and costs

associated.

• Approve all Purchase Requests and sign off approvals on all invoices.

• Create, prepare, and manage all Projects and Capital Expenditures with

cost/effect justifications.

• Prepare and manage Plant Budget for all Departments, create Shutdown budgets

and manage costs, and track against P&L.

• Maintain and enforce all safety programs and procedures at all times.

• Work with the PSM Administrator to maintain files and schedules to ensure

company compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA

Risk Management Plan (RMP) rules.

• Help PSM Admin coordinate PSM program records, materials, tools and

management systems by creating and maintaining online and paper files, tracking

filing deadlines and coordinating compliance updates.

• Conduct plant audits and track actions for completion and compliance.

• Approve hiring of all plant personnel, monitor individual performance and train

employees to run the plant effectively.

• Ensure the plant is in compliance with all city, county, state, and federal

regulations.

• Strive for maximum efficiency in plant operations and strive to reduce down time.

• Responsible for quality control and ensure that the final products meet

specification requirements.

• Work with and oversee Maint Mgr on planning and implementing a Preventative

(PM) and Predictive (PdM) Maintenance program according to manufacturing

specifications while tracking Work Order and PM completion rates.

• Provide leadership and mentoring for commitment towards best practice.

• Facilitate communication between departments and shifts.

• Incorporate a team atmosphere.

• Build and maintain good vendor relations.

• Meet, track, and trend all KPI’s.

follow up on action items through incident investigations.

• Approve vacations and payroll, Yearly Performance Reviews, and any

Disciplinary actions.

• Complete Weekly Production Reports, Month End Reports, and Month End

Inventory Report for Corporate.

Manufacturing Manager

• Ensure all KPI’s and Budget numbers are met.

• Provide and coordinate training for Job skills, Leadership abilities, Safety &

Environmental policies, and Organizational skills.

• Hire new employees.

• Complete and update “Daily Forecast” report for Sales & Trading.

• Track and promote the use of checklists and SOP’s.

• Manage plans and procedures for start-up and shut-down operations.

Production Supervisor
