ORION DRILLING COMPANY, GREAT LAKES DIVISION DuBois, PA
Regional HSE Advisor August 2012 to December 2014
Lead interface between corporate operations and regional HSE staff located in the Great Lakes Area.
Currently oversee three; state of the art land based drilling rigs. Provide oversight, coaching and day to
day support to ensure HSE compliance with the components of the management system. Serve as
technical expert supporting the drilling efforts through programs, onsite visits, coaching and mentoring,
proactive initiatives, reviews and incident investigations. Promote the occupational health, safety and
well-being of all persons working or visiting the Orion drilling rigs or yard. Provide employees and others,
as appropriate with the HSE information, communication, and training necessary for them to perform their
duties in accord with agreed standards. Lead or assist in the investigation of incidents with a view of
preventing recurrence, reducing risk, and improving performance .
Key Accomplishments
• One drilling rig has exceeded 750 days without a loss time injury. A second rig has exceeded 400
days without a lost time injury. The third rig arrived in June 2014 and is accident and injury free.
• A very high level of compliance training has been completed on all three rigs.
• All rig staff as well as operators have been trained in behavioral based safety with the REACH
group and their 60 day on-site based training.

maintained gas monitoring systems. Provided safety consulting on board drilling vessels 24-7 while also
performing H S gas supervision.
Key Accomplishments
• Supervised drilling crews working in concentrations of H S gas exceeding 10% with no loss of
life.
• Trained multi-national crew members to be safety compliant.
• Successfully managed the evacuation of the Petromar V drill ship in the South China Sea.
Subsea blow out in 660 feet of water caused rig to sink. No loss of life or injuries was
experienced. Working environment at time of evacuation greatly exceeded lethal limits for H S
gas.
