Professional Experience

ERICSSON, Bangalore :

Project Name: ERCOSSI (Ericsson Radio Core OSS Integration)

Description of the project:

ERCOSSI monitors the network elements in the mobile network. Huge

amount of data is recorded in the logs every day. This data is

processed from time to time and generate reports out of it. This

report would be used to predict NMS network elements faults and to

control the risk proactively. Raw alarms are collected from NMS and

are forwarded to the presentation layer. NMS Fault Manager receives

all alarms from the network elements and presents them in the alarm

handling application. Some of the functionalities that are provided by

ERCOSSI are Alarm handling, Co-operative acknowledge, Alarm

synchronization, Connection supervision, Event Handling.

Component Versions:

Technologies used:

Big Data, HIVE, JAVA, C, C++, Data Structures, PERL, SHELL

Responsibilities:

V Developing Map-Reduce jobs to analyze the alarm logs that are

collected from NMS and pull reports out of it.

V Writing scripts and queries using Pig and Hive.

V Importing some filtered data out of logs into MySQL using Sqoop.

V Developing new features in the project using C, C++ and JAVA.

V Troubleshooting and Administering 40 node Hadoop cluster environment.

V Following the AGILE software development process (SPRINT backlogs,

SPRINT reviews, daily stand-ups etc.).

V Involved in Code reviews for the changes done by the other team

members.

PROGRESS SOFTWARE, Hyderabad :

Description of the project:

The Industry's Only Suite of Wire Protocol JDBC & ODBC Driver database

connectivity, the drivers deliver the fastest, most

scalable application performance, eliminate the need to connect to the

database through database client libraries. As part of custom

engineering work, provide solutions to handle and process tera bytes

of data.

Responsibilities:

V Develop new JDBC & ODBC drivers, for new data sources that comes out

in the market, recently worked on developing driver's for HIVE and

HAWQ.

V Deep Understanding on how Hive and Pig works and handles data, in

order to develop drivers.

V Developing Pig scripts, Importing the data from various relational

DB's into HDFS using Sqoop.

Middleware is a real time application that acts as a bridge between

various front ends and backend. Any data request to backend is

provided to Middleware in the form of packets. The work mainly

involves the co-ordination with the client and business users.

Middleware architecture interacting with the IBM WTX stands in between

the front end (POS, ECOM etc.) and the backend (Equifax Bureau, FDR

etc). The middleware application takes care of all the details in a

credit card transaction like converting of various SQL queries

(specified by FDR) into a generic request packet that update & request

information from backend.

Component Versions:

Technologies used:

C, C++, Data Structures, Multithreading using POSIX, Socket

Programming, Pro*C, SQL, Sybase, Oracle, PERL, SHEL

Platform:

UNIX (Solaris 10)

Tool:

IBM WEBSPHERE TRANSFORMATION EXTENDER 8.3

Responsibilities:

V Developing and maintaining the Architecture code which handles 10

million transactions a day.

V Developing efficient modules in a Multithreaded environment which

handles heavy traffic, using POSIX library(Multithreading) and Socket

programming.

V Migrating the single threaded processes to a multi-threaded

environment.

V Developing modules in C/C++ to enhance the architecture code or to

create a new daemon process for a new client.

V Developed a module of Real Time Monitoring system to monitor the

transactions and send alerts when conditions are violated.

V Developing UNIX shell scripts to monitor the real time traffic and

transactions.
