Responsible for total corporate new construction management program --
approximately $125 Million
over five years. Projects initially managed were:
a.) Two (2) $5 Million Fine Grind Lime facilities.
b.) $25 Million light-weight Aerated Concrete Block manufacturing
facility.
c.) $40 Million Concrete Fiberboard manufacturing facility.
d.) $50 Million 2nd Kiln Line addition to an existing cement
manufacturing plant.
These projects were either canceled or indefinitely postponed due to lack
of outside financing.
FLORIDA POWER & LIGHT COMPANY -- Juno Beach, Florida (April, 1971 to Nov.,
1993):

1.) Project Construction Manager -- Turkey Point Plant Units 3 & 4 (1976 to
1988):
Responsible for all Backfit Construction, engineering design reviews,
plant modifications, renovations,

maintenance, documentation, start-up
and turnover activities at dual-unit operating nuclear power plants.

Supply System modifications (Steam

b.) Successfully completed intensive accelerated plant modification and
construction projects while
minimizing operating disruptions to two on-line nuclear power
plant stations during the OPEC
nations' international crude oil price escalation years.
c.) Developed and implemented a construction Quality Assurance Program
and established training
programs to meet a target of "Zero" Nuclear Regulatory
Commission (NRC) violations and fines
attributable to construction personnel (human) error.

completed within budget and on schedule.
3.) Deming Prize Challenge -- Departmental Facilitator (1988 to 1989):
Responsible for the overall preparation and coordination of an 83
person Construction Management
Department for a successful Deming Prize Challenge Total Quality
Management (TQM) and
Quality Improvement Program (QIP) audit by the Deming Prize
Committee examination team from
the Japanese Union of Scientists and Engineers (JUSE).
a.) Developed and implemented departmental 5-year Business Plan,
including identification,
prioritization, team assignment and implementation of
statistical process control countermeasures to
ensure departmental indicators align and fall within corporate
targets.
b.) Responsible for team and individual training, coaching, motivation
and team process facilitation for
full implementation of the TQM/QIP programs.
4.) Group Leader -- Distribution Systems Engineering (1971 to 1976):
