tribology laboratory with a total of 7 employees; my

responsibilities included the creation of monthly, quarterly and

yearly budgets. - Develop scope of work and service agreements

with different vendors/contractors to service laboratory

minimize value of lost production, reduce downtime, improve on

safety and equipment reliability on concentrator ball mills and

haul trucks.

- Support operation and production units by working with the

maintenance team in troubleshooting rotating and fixed equipment

such as; pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, agitators, tanks

and piping.

- Work with commissioning team to ensure new equipment

installations were made following design specifications and that

all pertinent maintenance documentation was in place prior to

operation.

- Test commissioned equipment to ensure equipment was within

manufacturer specifications as well as gathering baseline data.

- Upgraded CSI Online vibration system for the Metcalf

concentrator expansion to improve production rates, and eliminate

monthly lost revenue due to unplanned downtime.

- Upgraded key production equipment (conveyor motors and

gearboxes) to improve reliability, eliminate obsolescence, and

minimize repair parts. With this in place, the company saved $ 215

K on repairs plus savings in energy consumption.

. Continuous Improvement - Improved Preventive Maintenance (PM)

practices for the maintenance department using Six Sigma

methodologies by working with the Business Unit Leaders to ensure

their leadership in, and support of PdM and PM programs.

. KPI - Implemented KPI's in different departments throughout the

site.

- Use of Pareto charts to identify and prioritize and resolve

maintenance/reliability issues for critical rotating and fixed

equipment.
