Grocery Manager - Weis Markets Region 1/District 2 (Current)

Weis Markets, a premier regional supermarket chain employing 18,000 associates thru out 165 stores in five states, including

Pennsylvania.

Duties include supervising all associates in the Grocery Department, Center Store & Front end.

I manage the non-perishable inventories by tracking weekly sales reports and order products so as to meet customers'

requirements and the company’s gross profit goals.

I schedule all grocery, dairy, frozen, DSD and Receiving associates as well as oversee their training & e valuate their work. I

reward and recognize their performance and delegate their work assignments in a manner that most effectively utilizes their

talents and abilities while maximizing profits. I also plan and schedule the workloads for the work shifts.

Develop and implement merchandising plans, including creating attractive displays, new item merchandising, sale items and

promotional tie-ins, in order to meet the sales and profit objectives of the store & departments. I am responsible for proper

backroom inventory levels. I prepare, maintain and track records to calculate gross monthly profits according to company

guidelines.

Control department costs by monitoring and improving operations and practices as needed, by controlling man -hours & by

reducing losses due to shrinkage and pilferage. I also direct, oversee, and evaluate the training of all non -perishable

associates in order to reduce and control turnover, promote more efficient operations and to provide better control over labo r

costs.

Develop and maintain communication with the other departments in the store in order to devise marketing plans which will help

to meet the financial objectives of the store. I identify areas in grocery and other departments in the store where improveme nts

in customer service are required, then implement changes and procedures to address these needs. I also maintain and

oversee accurate department records on all important matters, including associate performance and discipline, sales plans

and store financials.
