Project Details:

TOPIC: Image Compression Using Wavelet Transform.

Image compression is now essential for applications such as transmission and storage in

data. Image compression reduces the size of the image so the memory space required will is very small also the

transmission is very fast when compared to that of the uncompressed image. Image compression is reducing the

size of the image without degrading the quality of the image. The image is compressed using various transforms

such as Fourier transform and discrete cosine transform but they have some disadvantages such as computational

process is difficult also more distortion will be present in the reconstructed image. This disadvantage will be

overcome by wavelet transform.
