Managing Editor/Founder
Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:
As the owner and Managing Editor, I have been able to reach
out to variety of readers. Though the website provides news
to Africans about Africa primarily but I developed the story
or content ideas, considering reader or audience appeal in a
way that the content of the website can be viewed and read
in about eight different languages. As a result of this, the
website was selected as a runner up for New Media Award by
Highway Africa in South Africa for year 2011.
I prepared, rewrote and edited copy to improve readability,
and supervised others who do this work. I verified facts,
dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources
using Computer Assisted Reporting. I was also responsible
for reading copy or proof to detect and correct errors in
spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
I planned the contents of publications according to the
publication's style, editorial policy, and publishing
requirements; this was evident in the successful publication
of the first edition of the hard copy published in 2007.
I allocated print space for story text, photos, and
illustrations according to space parameters and copy
significance, using knowledge of layout principles by
overseeing publication production, including artwork,
layout, computer typesetting, and printing, ensuring
adherence to deadlines and budget requirements.
Accomplishments
. Won the Nigerian Media Merit Award as Defense Reporter of
the Year 2000 Based on a story, titled "Soldiers Grumble"
exposed the corrupt practices of the Chief of Defense Staff,
Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi and caused him to refund the transfer
allowance of soldiers he had earlier stolen.
. Another article I wrote on Ministry of Education in 2001
led to the removal of the Minister of Education, Prof Tunde
Adeniran for the loss of over 300 Billion Naira meant for
Universal Basic Education Program.
. Won the Highway Africa Runner-Up Award for New Media
Technology 2011- The award in recognition of my effort to
disseminate information about Africa to Africans and
non-Africans in 8 different languages through my website:
www.africaninterest.com.

Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:
With the understanding that faculty members are the
designers of powerful learning environments. I designed my
curriculum based on an analysis of what the students need to
know to function in a complex world rather than on what I
know how to teach.
I created and instructed the study of human communication to
persons from different backgrounds and levels, helping them
to develop an understanding of the theoretical principles of
verbal and non-verbal interaction, applying these principles
in a variety of communication contexts covering
Intra-personal, Interpersonal, Intercultural Small Group,
Organizational Communication, and Business and Professional
Communication, and also to improve students' proficiency in
speaking and listening in a variety of communication
settings.
I conveyed messages in the understandable terms and
applications by communicating progress and results to
students through proper channels, inserting comments into
the body of submitted papers using Microsoft Word's
reviewer's comments feature. I also made sure that I
evaluated written work within three days of the due date and
I encouraged them to send me an email or call me if they did
not receive their evaluated assignment with my evaluation
comments by that time. I generally evaluated individual
assignments first and then the team assignments.
I scheduled day to day training sessions using many
presentation and teaching techniques, focusing on classroom,
seminar, self and web based instruction to effectively
motivate and engage the audience. In addition to class
activities, I also encouraged group discussion on Blackboard
I gave my students the opportunity to study the theory, do
exercises, and take part in oral presentations, since one of
the critical skills for business leaders is public speaking.
I placed a special emphasis on a degree candidate's ability
to accurately and persuasively express ideas orally. As a
result they were required to make oral presentations as part
of class learning activities. I required them to prepare
oral presentations in support of their written work and/or
in addition to written assignments. All oral presentations,
(two speeches: one Individual and Group) included visual
aids and all presentations that required projected slides
were prepared using Microsoft PowerPoint. I made videotaping
facilities available to students practicing their speeches
and I encouraged them to make use of this facility prior to
presenting their speeches in the class.

Humanities Instructor
Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:
I created and instructed an introductory course on modern
American culture to persons of different backgrounds and
levels, focusing on the interactions between social forces
such as advertising, media, and lifestyle and cultural
trends in modern American society. The purpose was to assist
the students to cast a critical eye on current trends and
changes in our culture.
The objective was to improve my students' ability to write
concisely and accurately in a manner that is easily
understood by one who may not be familiar with the subject
matter or a scholar of the material. I also helped to
sharpen their critical thinking skills to enable them to
separate emotion from arguments and seek through skepticism
and understanding to comprehend not only the details of
another's argument or position but also the implications and
probable effects of the argument.
I helped them to develop, further, their abilities to work
in a team environment, as expected by the University of
Phoenix and most employers.
