Senior Engineer

Aircel Limited - Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu - August 2014 to Present

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and maintaining KPI's like TCH Drop rate, SD drop rate, TCH blk, SD blk, HOSR.

• Ericsson Parameters tuning to keep the KPI's improved.

• 2 G New site planning (BCCH, BSIC, TCH, CGI, Neighbours) for ROTN sites.

• Analyzing log files with the help of TEMS investigation to identity Interference, Call Drops, Handover failures

and the potential causes.

• Responsible for Physical optimization such as antenna Tilting activities for KPI affecting Cells with the help

of Drive test team.

• Responsible in Identifying and Optimizing Cells with high TA samples with the help of MRR reports

• Responsibility of taking care on customer complaints regarding Network Coverage

Senior Network Engineer

1) Project: Bouygues Telecom, Ericsson, France

Responsibilities:

• Pledge on maintenance and bringing improvements in RF KPI post swap from Nortel to Ericsson Networks

for Bouygues Telecom.

• Analysis of GSM and WCDMA KPIs and taking necessary steps to improvement the network quality

• Ericsson Parameters tuning to keep the KPI's improved.

• Optimize the WCDMA network Performance to reach the KPI's RRC & RAB attempts, Success, Handover -

CS & PS (Soft, softer and hard), CS & PS IRAT Handovers.

• Optimizing Overshooting Cell, Swap sites, checking RSCP, ECIO

• Daily audits of end to end network parameters.

• Extensive use of ENIQ, WinFIOL for analysis of network

• Resolving the Issues related to Poor quality, SD Drop, TCH Drop, HOSR, CSSR, TCH & SD Blocking, Traffic

2) Project: Mobistar (Dual Carrier 3G), Belgium

Responsibilities:

• Investigation of 3G KPI's such as accesibity, retainability, mobility and traffic

• KPI monitoring and Optimization for 3G and parameter level optimization

• Analyzing the RSCP, Pilot Pollution, Ec/Io, Soft & Softer Handover in Drive Logs

• Reporting and analyzing the worst performing cells KPI's

• Data Collection and KPI check from Huawei PRS tool

• To check the HSDPA parameters are correctly implemented on the site using Huawei iManager

• To check if there are no missing HO between co localised site and the direct neighbours

• To check the existing alarms on the site using Huawei iManager M2000

• Update the ON air site in Asset

• To check the mean RTWP value trend which gives the information's about the load, hardware fault like faults

in feeder, connectors and RF unit

• The strategy DC is to push the service HSxPA on the second frequency (10836) and to keep the major traffic

CS and PS R99 on the first frequency (10811)

3) Project: Mobistar (Lifting/3G Refresh), Belgium

Responsibilities:

• The project Lifting aims to swap the vertical polar antenna of sites to cross polar antenna

• The project 3G Refresh is Swap Project from Nortel to Huawei BTS

• KPI monitoring after swapping the antenna from vertical to cross polar

• KPI monitoring after swapping from Nortel to Huawei BTS

• Generate the raw data and checking KPI's from Huawei PRS tool for the required swapped sites

• KPI monitoring & analyzing on daily basis with the help of Metrica tool

• To check alarms and neighbour definitions from Huawei iManager M2000

• Discussion with customer for getting Acceptance of Swapped sites

• Used to upload Site data base in Network Library and Site Handler (Mobistar tool)

• Updating sitedata base in Asset

Responsibilities:

• Drive test using Ericsson-Tems12, for Idea 3G Network in Chennai

• Cluster drive of 3G sites and Checking Voice, Video Calls and Data Throughput with FTP Download, Cell

Reselection from ICR 3G to Idea 2G and Vice versa, Soft and Softer Handovers in 3G ICR network and Hard

handovers from ICR 3G to 2G Idea network for Both PS and CS Call

• Check for e-PLMN request (for In roamers also) and compare if the sent e-PLMN is of that required for the

network based on MNC

• Check for proper external cell definitions and identify any mismatches in definitions and update the same

for changes in configurations

• Fine tuning of Qrxlevmin required by monitoring the border 3G cells coverage limit and 3G coverage holes

RF Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Drive test using Ericsson-Tems12 with ASCOM Scanner, on the first launching of AIRCEL 3G Network in

Chennai

• To Check the Pilot Pollution with the Scanner and to verify the areas with more than three Active set in the

reporting Ranges and suggest the necessary Physical changes that are need to be made

• SCFT and cluster drive of 3G sites and Checking Voice, Video Calls and Data Throughput with FTP Download,

Cell Reselection from 3G to 2G and Vice versa, Soft and Softer Handovers in 3G and Hard handovers from

3G to 2G for Both PS and CS Call

• Monitoring the RF parameters Tx Power, UTRA Carrier RSSI, SIR, Target SIR, SAN (Serving/Active and

Neighbor) Set, RxLev, BLER, CPICH Ec/No, CPICH RSCP (Received Signal Code Power), RAT (Radio

Access Technology) State to determine the strength and quality of the signal, channel interference of the signal

and UMTS coverage, PDP context Activation Time (I.e. Ping test)

• Verification of RSCP Ec/Io and SC (Scrambling Code)

• FTP test for both HSDPA and R99 (UMTS) and to verify the Download Speed on both the Technologies

RF Engineer

Responsibilities:

Drivetest and Optimization of GSM Network for Vodafone

Profile Description:

• Optimization of the network by changing physical parameters like Mechanical & Electrical tilt, Antenna

orientation etc for an optimum Coverage & Quality

• Analysis & Troubleshooting with LOG files collected during Drive test

• Drive testing using TEMS kit to verify the network performance & major KPIs (Rx Level, Rx Quality, SQI, C/

I, C/A, HO failure, Call Drop)

• The activities included foot printing of all the sites in order to control the site overshoot, Interference

Elimination, Finding Missing & One way Neighbours, Coverage holes

• Deciding Antenna Type, Height, Orientation, Tilt etc. according to clutter

• Generation of prediction plots and coverage statistics with the help of appropriate propagation models

according to clutter

• Worked on Data Drive for testing speed on EDGE and GPRS

RF Survey Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for LOS surveys, that is carried out to ensure the feasibility of site with respect to clearance from

different kinds of obstructions and to check the LOS

• Involved in Transmission-Survey [Planning proper height for Microwave antenna to interconnect the new cell

sites with the existing network by Map study and Radio Link Tool]

• Survey in the nominal point to find best options which relieves congestion or coverage criteria
