Started as a clerk and promoted to manager within 2 years. Responsible for end-to-end operations and sales
at $8 million beverage distributor, with direct oversight of up to 10 employees and approximately 20,000 square
feet of warehouse space.
Train, supervise, and assess performance of all employees, including fork lift training and adherence to OSHA
guidelines. Ensure employees accurately reconcile deliveries against invoices and purchase orders.
Schedule hourly employees for weekly shifts, adjusting in light of seasonality and sales forecasts. Prepare
payroll.
Manage all purchases, and maintain productive relationships with up to 40 different vendors. Plan inventory
based on historical sales analysis, scheduled promotions, seasonality, and other factors to optimize purchases
of 8,000 – 10,000 SKUs on weekly basis.
Adjust product mix in light of research into changes in customer demand over time.
Key Achievements
Implemented first-ever training program for warehouse staff with all job tasks documented and used as daily
checklists.
Minimized employee idle time by introducing education on topics relevant to eliminating product shrinkage as
well as managing retail side of operations, including how to get to know customer preferences.
Worked side-by-side with new hires for on the spot mentoring on how to differentiate poor quality product upon
delivery.
Increased profit margins while expanding goods sold 35% above targets by adjusting pricing based on
customer demand and cost of goods sold.
