HYBRID CAR

To face the hike in price of fuel we need a more efficient vehicle which utilizes the energy effectively.

For this purpose a Hybrid Car can be used. The five key components of hybrid car are Gasoline

engine, generator, inverter, electric motor and battery. For initial acceleration and at low speeds

energy from the battery travels to the inverter which powers the electric motor to drive the wheel this

is all by electric power. As additional power is needed under normal driving condition the gasoline

engine will automatically start to supplement the electric power to the wheels and also charge the

battery when needed.

Under full throttle acceleration power from the gasoline engine and the electric motor are committed

to provide power to the wheels. When decelerating and braking the gasoline engine will

automatically stop and electric motor acts as a generator creating electricity from the kinetic energy

of the wheels and stored in the battery. Hybrid energy drive is a power to move you forward.

PROJECT

TRI-MOB A HUMAN MOBILISER

The TRI-MOB is a three-wheeled electric vehicle having a brush less DC motor and valve regulated

lead acid battery, where a rider can drive only in standing position. The main problem faced by

supervisors/lecturers working in any industry or large institutions is frequent travel inside the

organization which affects their efficiency. Our team designed the TRI-MOB as a solution to improve

human efficiency.

Apart from Segway and electric scooters already available for this purpose our Tri -mob is different

by its simple design. Previous vehicles use transmission system such as belt drive for transm itting

power from motor to tyres or they use different motors for each wheel. Here we use a Brushless DC

(BLDC) hub motor which is directly connected to the hub of front wheel which drives the two

supporting wheels connected at the rear. The driver can control the direction with a handle and the

speed of BLDC motor by an accelerator attached to the handle through an Electronic controller.

It is compact to drive inside and outside of any organization and other buildings. We implement ed

the TRI-MOB as pollution free, more efficient, and less initial cost vehicle with an estimation of

around 20000 rupees.
