Solar Energy Management System

The main aim of the system is that it is possible to continuously utilize the incoming

solar radiation in real time. When there is sufficient incoming solar radiation, the ADC senses it

and sends an 8 bit signal to the micro controller deciding which loads can be turned on using the 12v

relay. The micro controller sends a signal to the SL100 transistor in common emitter configuration

causing its collector terminal to saturate which in turn will energize the armature of the relay the relay

coil thereby changing the state of the ‘movable contact’ from NC to NO.

MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracker Techniques) for PV Cell

The project examine maximum possible power is extracted from the solar cell on the basis of

maximum power transfer theorem and used electronic tracking scheme. Impedance mismatch is the

problem for maximum power not being absorbed by the load. By changing duty cycle of dc-dc

convertor we can vary the source impedance, so that source impedance can be made equal to the load

impedance. The Mppt controller calculate the require gating pulse for the dc-dc convertor, so that load

absorbed maximum power. The module is simulated in Mat lab/ Simulink.
