• Hand-selected by the Chief of Staff of the US Army to start program.

• Led startup of Army and DARPA’s $60 billion (at the time) program to build an optimized combat fighting

system to replace the M1 Abrams Tank, the M2/3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, and the M109 Paladin Howitzer.

• Developed program philosophy, acquisition strategy, technical concepts and technology trade-offs,

systems design and development, and formulation of operational concepts for Future Combat Systems, an

integrated high tech combat fighting system.

• Designed and developed FBCB2 software, communication and network architectural design using best

commercial practices, commercial standards, and open architecture principals.

maintaining total connectivity in a hostile communications environment.
