Optimisation of Production Lead Time of Shakti Engine Turbine Blade Root

Profile in FGC 2- Project completed in HAL, Engine Division, Bangalore.

At HAL, the root of turbine blades(used in Shakthi Engines) are machined

using creep feed grinding with a highly advanced CNC machine called

Flexible Grinding Centre 2 (FGC2) imported from United Kingdom. Studies of

the machine and the CNC program(which controls the operations) were

conducted aimed at reducing the lead time. Alterations in the CNC program,

sequence of operations and the cutting tool reduced the time by a few

minutes which had a great effect in the long run production.

MINI PROJECT ( Done as a part of Academics)

Green Initiative-Energy Conserving Shock Absorber

The wasted energy in a shock absorber is absorbed using a piezoelectric

material. Design and fabrication of the shock absorber with piezoelectric

material in between was carried out. The voltage produced was measured

using a Cathode Ray Oscilloscope(CRO) and results were analysed.

SEMINAR:

Analysis of Winglets: Analyses of aircrafts with and without winglets using

different techniques were discussed in this paper. The different techniques
