Last Worked with The World Bank Group and was deputed as Consultant for

six months at the Ministry of Finance, North Block, New Delhi. Reported

directly to the Under Secretary and the Director, Ministry of Finance. The

Contract ended on June 30, 2014.

The World Bank is a vital source of financial and technical assistance to

developing countries around the world. The World Bank helps the governments

in developing countries to reduce poverty by providing them with money and

technical expertise which they need for a wide range of projects-such as

education, health, infrastructure, communications, government reforms and

for many other purposes.

Subject dealt with in the Section:

1. World Bank assistance in Health, Education & Social Sector projects.

2. All matters relating to Global Fund Grants for TB, Malaria & HIV/AIDS.

3. Detailed Implementation Report (DIR)/ INT in respect of five Health

Sector Projects is constantly discussed between Officers of DEA,

Health Ministry & CBI. This is a high priority work of classified

nature.

Profile: -

Work in this Section included analyzing the project proposal received

from various Ministries/ Departments like Ministry of Health & Family

Welfare, Department of Elementary Education & Literacy, Department of

Secondary & Higher Education. Work relating to the negotiations of the

project with World Bank and other pooling partners like DFID, European

Commission etc.was also undertaken. Signing of the project agreements,

processing the annual portfolio review meetings to review the projects

performance and other various work relating to the Bank assisted projects

etc. were other works dealt with in this Section. Proposals for Global Fund

to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis & Malaria (GFATM)'s grant was also among other

works being dealt with in this Section.

Under the direct supervision of the Chief/Director/Project Manager/Editor

and the general guidance of the Team, I have been performing the following

tasks:

> Responsible for all administrative tasks, including logistical

support, drafting non-substantive correspondences and responses;

typing reports, papers, and documents; in support to the

implementation of the project's activities and ensure follow-up action

on a timely manner;

> Administer the financial management and reporting system of the

project in accordance to the UN rules and procedures. Check monthly

and quarterly financial reports, including Cashbooks. Assist in

preparation of Expenditure Forecast and Summary of Transactions

submitted by the implementing agencies. Maintain miscellaneous and

petty cash accounts;

> Maintain contact and effectively coordinate with focal points of other

national/international project offices, and project counterparts

(ministries, constituents, local/national institutions) in support of

the monitoring and implementation of activities and take follow-up

actions;

> Prepare background material, working papers, table and presentation

materials on the project for use in programme and discussions;

> Provide informal translation on letters, reports and documents from

Hindi to English and English to Hindi as required;

> Provide informal interpretation for all project meetings and takes

minutes and/or notes of meetings as required;

> Arrange appointments for supervisor, project consultants and UN/World

Bank/American Embassy Ambassador and Editor, SPAN officials, receive

visitors, handled telephone enquiries, place telephone calls, respond

to requests for information, maintain office records and reference

files on all project related activities, send and receive e-mails and

fax correspondence;

> Prepare administrative related briefing materials for the supervisor

for use on official missions including special meetings and for

action;

> Provide necessary administrative support and arrangement for

conducting workshops, training, meeting and seminars;

> Maintain inventory record on the receipts of payment, bank book, bank

statements of the programme account as well as partner organizations;

> Provide guidance to project partners in India on the Organization's

financial system as well as administrative and financial reporting

procedures;

> Maintain relevant programme information systems, coordinate

information materials for dissemination, update databases for the

monitoring and evaluation of the project, and update information on

website of the project;

> In consultation with the project CTA, contribute to the preparation of

progress reports (technical and administrative/financial and other

reports on project activities by providing information, records, and

preparing tables and drafting selected sections;

> Assist in general day-to-day administrative/project matters in the

office; and

> Carry out other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
