Project Title Filter design and processing for x- ray spectroscopy

Description When an x-ray photon interacts with an x-ray

detector, due to photoelectric effect charge is produced in

detector and is read using Charge sensitive pre-amplifier which

gives an exponential pulse or a step signal. The height of the

pulse determines energy of the photon. This signal is filtered

/shaped before giving it to peak detector and Analog to digital

converter for improving signal to noise ratio. This pulse

shaping can be done both in analog domain and digital domain.

Because processing of a signal is more convenient and accurate

in digital domain than in analog, in this project we design an

digital shaper and a peakdetector and to analyze the peak

values a histogram in digital domain.

Project Title Tailor Made Panoramic Images Using Technique of Image

Stitching

Description When the size of an image such as a picture or a painting is

beyond the scope of a camera,

it is difficult to take the whole picture which is a high

resolution image all at once. In this case, each part of the

image is taken by a camera one by one. A part of the image is

an image patch. Using image patches, the whole picture is

reproduced.
