PROJECT DETAILS:

Title : Automated Color Sorter

Team Size : 4

Role : Team Lead

Duration : 3 months

Description : Automated color sorter is a machine, which is used for sorting the Object’s based on their color. An

object that is to be sorted is passed through a spectrum of white light, then a sensor, fixed at the object’s path senses

the reflected light rays that are being reflected from the surface of the object. The signals thus obtained from the

color sensor are fed to the controller through a specific communicating interface. The controller then, responds to

these signals by accepting these values and estimates the color of that object based on the algorithm designed. Then

upon the obtained values and estimated color the controller starts the process of sorting mechanism according to the

requirement. In this project the controller performs the task of sorting by running motor at particular intervals that

result in distinguishing the objects of different color. By making slight changes in the mechanical structure in

present project it can be suited for other applications.
