Re: Mental Therapy Aide/Trainee
To whom it may concern,
This letter is to express my interest in Mental Therapy Aide/Trainee employment at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Remote experience working at CPC Santa Ana Psychiatric Hospital as a Therapy aide whereby College courses of psychology and communication proved helpful in developing interpersonal relationships in order to become an outside person of trust. Duties included following the patients schedule, including attending group sessions, activities, meals, and 1:1 cases.
While working at Four Winds Syracuse I transcribed initial consultations, admission assessments, PMH, labs, treatment/progress notes, physical exams including EKG results, court retention letters and discharge summaries for psychiatrists and psychologists. I became further familiar with DSM as well as medications and privacy/confidentiality laws.
What my resume does not describe is my character. I am a self-directed, people-oriented, compassionate and understanding person. The volunteer work that I perform will attest to an innate desire to show care and compassion in dealings with people.
My interest in psychology from college into the workforce has given me firsthand insight into what is perhaps the most intriguing of all medical specialties, delving into the minds of patients as well as the psychiatrists themselves.
I would love to return to this field of medicine and will be of great service to SUNY Upstate Medical University as Mental Therapy Aide/Trainee. I greatly anticipate hearing from you regarding this position and will make myself available at your convenience during or outside of normal business hours.
Sincerely,
Helen Anne Russo
