Duties and responsibilities :
Depa rtment of Audiology
Measurements of hearing acuity of patients of all ages.
In charge for testing of Pure Tone Audiometry, Behavioral Observation
Audiometry, Oto Acoustic Emission and Brainstem Evoked Response
Audiometry.
Administration and interpretation of audiological diagnostic procedures such as
SISI, TDT, SPIN, STAT, ABLB, special tests with immittance audiometry, etc.,
including tests for pseudohypacusis and central auditory dysfunction (CAD).
Infant screening programmes for hearing loss, including OAE’s.
Prescriptions of appropriate hearing aids using subjective and objective

procedures
Instruction for use and maintenance of hearing aids and other assistive listening
•
devices.
Assessment and management for cochlear implants.
•
Auditory training programmes for the hearing aid users, including speech reading
•
training.
Cochlear implant mapping.
Maintaining clinical records and appropriate reports.
Counseling given for hearing impaired patients regarding their problem and
further treatment.
Counseling given regarding the usage and benefits for hearing aids and for
cochlear implants for hearing impaired individuals.
Recommended and counseled regarding Auditory Training and Auditory Verbal
Therapy for individuals with hearing aids and cochlear implants.
Supervising and supporting subordinates and co therapist in programme planning
and implementation..
Auditory Verbal Therapy done for hearing impaired children and for cochlear

Exposure to different hearing aids (Siemens, Oticon, Phonak, GN Resound,
Widex and Unitron).

Diagnosis: Assessment of various speech-language disorders for nature and severity, in

• Administration of various speech-language tests, both subjective and objective
including use of computer based instruments like Dr. Speech.
