Health Educator-Associate Director, HIV Services –MetroPlus Section 2013-Present:
• Essential duties include managing a team of four health educators and case manager associates working in the
field and on site, focused on overall health promotion of disease prevention, harm reduction, and chronic
disease self management while counseling patients and their families to adapt to healthy positive behaviors.
• Knowledge of evidence based programs to identify need specific treatment plans and applying functional
therapy to educate whole families, which includes counseling families to help them cope with relatives living
with HIV-AIDS; also educating them to manage their lives in relation to prenatal infections, other chronic
diseases, medical adherence, treatment plans to assist them in overcoming barriers, domestic violence,

• Key responsibilities: worked with a team of case managers and other professionals providing client direct
services for young adults (18-24 years old) referred by courts, probation, parole, defense attorneys and other
criminal justice stakeholders. Duties included planning program activities for alternative to incarceration and
post release client specific services to prepare cohort for positive life changes.
• Liaison with other service providers to assist clients with civic community engagement projects such as
community gardens, churches, nursing homes, and local political activism.
• Heavily assisted in coordinating daily classroom activities and developing relevant curriculums to fit client
