Overseeing the purchase of durable goods, farm products, non- durable goods
and services
Analyzing thoroughly of inventories and consumption records, the comparison
of suppliers and an understanding of constantly shifting supply and
demand
Evaluating regularity of suppliers to ensure that inventories are
maintained and deliveries are done timely
Following up with suppliers for undelivered goods based on L Pos and
maintaining records of goods ordered and received.
Locating vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interviewing them
in order to determine product availability and terms of sales
Preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and
equipment.
Reviewing purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company
policy
Analyzing market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future
material availability
Developing and implementing purchasing and contract management
instructions, policies, and procedures.
Participating in the development of specifications for equipment, products
or substitute materials
Resolving vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.
Representing company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with
suppliers
Reviewing, evaluating, and approving specifications for issuing and
awarding bids
Preparing bid awards requiring GM.s approval.
Administering on-line purchasing systems
Arranging disposal of surplus material
Assisting department managers and stores for sourcing the goods and
services
Liaising with Executive Chef about day today purchase of perishable goods
Clearing imported goods from the customs authority with necessary required
documents.
Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information
files and processing paperwork
Keepings updated with the latest industry trends to be able to make
recommendations to upgrade or change existing suppliers/vendors
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs,
and other techniques for maximizing the effective purchase of good.
Ensuring all the goods and services required by the hotel bring with
competitive price and help to reduce the cost.
Producing competitive analysis and doing market surveys periodically for
the best interest of the hotel to ensure all goods purchased are at a
competitive rate and quality standards.
