Experience:
Program Director Intensive Out Patient-IOP: (Madison CI., Fl 2013) I
started working with Community Education Center at Madison Correctional
Institution. The program had 6 months when I came on board on July 2013. As
program director I am responsible for ensuring that all elements of the
program are effectively provided and implemented. I am responsible for
recruiting, selecting, training, supervising and evaluating staff in
accordance with positions specifications. As a manager and leader, I am
prepared all the times to assist the program staff and provide direct
clients services as well as provide support and direct program services
coverage as need it.
Clinical Counselor CAP: (Polk Correctional Institute, Polk City, Fl. 2012)
I was continuing my employment with Spectrum Health System as Clinical
Counselor in Polk correctional Institution. I was assisting with the
development of the prison's Residence Therapeutic Community. Duties
include: psychosocial assessment, intake evaluation, and case management.
In addition I provided individual group and family therapy. I teach the
various components of the curriculum for the inmates. This innovative
teaching style is an attempt to help the inmates reach their best potential
for change and became active citizens. This effort also strives to reduce
the recidivism in prison.
Clinical Counselor CACII: (Port Wentworth, GA. 2011) In my employment as a
Clinical Counselor II with Spectrum Health Systems, I worked at Coastal
State Prison in the therapeutic community. Duties include: psychosocial
assessment, intake evaluation, case management as well as teaching the
curriculum for the inmates. In addition, I carried a caseload of up to 30
inmates for individual counseling. Under our supervision and care the
inmates were taught using and innovative teaching style in the attempt to
help the inmates reach their best potential for change and become active
citizen.
Clinical Counselor CACII: (Ridgeland SC. 2010) As a bilingual clinical
counselor for Recovery Concepts, Inc (an assistance medication clinic), my
duties include: intake evaluation, case management. When clients were in
need, I was responsible for providing referrals to other institution for
care and support. I provide individual and group counseling. In the effort
to prevent relapse I was responsible for teaching clients the necessary
skills to coping with stress, anger, and other situations that may develop
on a day to day basis.
Addiction's Counselor: (Savannah, GA. 2008) as a Substance Abuse and
Addictions Counselor at Recovery Place, I provide counseling services both
to English and Spanish speaking clients who were required to receive
treatment for DUI. I was able to obtain their confidence, respect and trust
and as such, clients responded well to the program of treatment.
Private Addiction's Counselor: (Mexico City 2001-2003) I practiced as a
private addiction's counselor helping people to recover from alcohol and
drugs. During this time my clients have had a lot of success. My therapy
was based on biopsychological and cognitive behavior therapy model. I was
able to use my own experiences in developing and providing short-term
therapies for people with addictions. Additionally, I supported clients as
they entered into programs for recovery, reinforcing the importance of
attending with AA meetings.
Casa San Jose. Addiction's Counselor :(Huitzila, Mexico, 1997-2000). As I
completed my education, I began my practice of providing therapy by
volunteering my time to clients in this all women institution. Casa San
Jose provided care for people who are unable to seek treatment, due to
their financial situation. Women with addition were able to reside there
and receive weekly counseling sessions as well as the opportunity to attend
in house AA meeting twice a day is a place for people who can't afford to
pay for treatment. The addictive people reside there and receive counseling
in addictions every week and AA meetings twice a day. My practice there was
voluntary
