October 2012 to November 2013:
Director of Agribusiness Programs – Mercy Corps
Led diverse business projects for Mercy Corps Afghanistan to benefit over 30,000 producers with over 42 million
US dollars budget funded by international donors (US Agency for International Development - USAID, United
Kingdom Department for International Development -DFID, European Union Commission - EU).
August to September 2012:
Independent translator for medical translation contract implemented by Mobile Technologies LLC., based in
Pittsburgh, PA, USA: translated about 5,500 sentences and 54,000 words, source text were English and Spanish .
Transcripts were mostly from conversations between English speaking doctors with Spanish speaking patients and
assisted by interpreter. Translations were “live” using companies’ software. Additionally, as translation aid I use
Fluency translation software.
From 2008 to 2012, I fulfilled three consultancies for Chemonics International Inc., an international development
contractor of the US Agency for International Development (USAID):
October 2009-April 2012:
Director of the Integrated Development and Conservation in the Bolivian Amazon Project.
- Directed project focused in the Bolivian lowland forests with the overall goal to simultaneously promote the
conservation and sustainable use of Bolivia’s vast biodiversity in 1 million hectares (ha), while improving the
well-being of the Bolivian people, and addressing climate change.
- Implemented program components and provided training and technical assistance in institutional strengthening
and development of governance capacity to municipalities, umbrella organizations, and local producers.

January 2009-September 2009:
Deputy Director of the Alternative Development Program/Southern Region (ADP/S), Afghanistan
Managed technical programs as part of a three person team which included the Chief of Party and a
specialized project engineer, to support the development of the infrastructure projects: poultry project,
construction of agro-industrial park, and renovation of a regional airport.

January 2008- December 2008:
Horticulture Team Leader and Business Development Specialist for ADP/S Program, Afghanistan
- Designed, managed, and organized Afghan staff to implement agriculture projects, with USAID funding, which
distributed seeds and fertilizer to 24,000 beneficiary Afghan farmers for producing corn, peanuts and wheat for
the commercial market and for food security.
- Developed local capacity in Business Development Services (BDS) and marketing of agricultural products for
the domestic and overseas markets.

From 2006 to 2007 fulfilled different roles with Tetratech Inc./ Associates in Rural Development, an international
development contractor of the US Agency for International Development (USAID):

- Formulated business development strategies for natural resource products and services, backstop projects,
and developed proposals to deliver technical assistance in forestry, agroforestry, and forest products marketing
and manufacturing.

Senior Technical Advisor, Commercial Forestry Component for the MIDAS Program USAID/Colombia.
Provided guidance in developing forestry plantations with private-public investment, in natural forest
management under community forestry, and oversaw the quality of technical products and services.
Co-developer of a request for proposal (RFP) for a private contractor in Liberia to manage the chain of
custody on behalf of the Forest Development Authority (FDA), funded by USAID/U .S. Department of
Agriculture (USDA)-Forest Service in cooperation with the World Bank . This was part of designing wood
traceability technical protocols to help lift a log ban for Liberia being enforced by the UN (April 2006).
