Hiring Professional:
My current position as Human Resource Coordinator is giving me the opportunity to put my leadership
skills to use directly in the Human Resource field. My mission is to implement best practices of Human
Resource Management by providing quality services to recruit and retain a talented and diverse
workforce. I recruit qualified candidates externally using career fairs, online job postings, as well as with
signage on site. I review resumes for qualifications and conduct interviews with qualified applicants . My
primary function is to recruit, interview, complete the screening process, orientate new team members
and managers, complete transfer requests, handle promotions, set up training schedules, coordinate
documentation, address policy-compliance, complete payroll functions, and terminations. I prepare and
distribute company newsletter. As well as communicate with the Operations HR Manager regarding any
concerns or problems.
As a full time student at Western Illinois University I have developed my skills and interest in a career in
Business and Human Resource Management. I have completed a Bachelor of Business in Human
Resource Management May 2012, and would like to be considered for a position within your Human
Resources Department.
My previous position as a General Manager has given me the opportunity to develop my leadership skills,
and the chance to interact with a diverse group of individuals. Managing a team of Assistant and Shift
managers has not only given me leadership experience, but it has also given me direct insight into the
Human Resource profession. In the supervisor position, I oversaw the overall hiring process by recruiting
and screening applicants, as well as conducting interviews. Other responsibilities included keeping
certifications current and administering monthly in-service trainings. These trainings included team
building activities that promote trust among peers in emergency situations.
Working on programs to motivate my team of managers and team members has allowed me to put an
emphasis on developing my communication and interpersonal skills. Implementing individual instructions
and professional development has allowed me to understand and adapt to the different learning styles of
the employees. Fostering an open-door management policy has helped me to proactively identify and
resolve problems, as well as correct any problematic behavior before it leads to disciplinary action.
My experience and education thus far has given me a variety of technical skills and practical applications
that are essential to the overall business strategy of your business. I appreciate the opportunity to
interview with you and thank you for considering me for the Human Resource position within human
resource department.
Sincerely,
