Board member, volunteer role providing leadership and direction for

relations, budget management and projections, volunteer recruitment,
limited marketing, and other related duties.
Southwest Regional Director - Children's Hunger Alliance
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Cincinnati and Dayton
regional offices. Major responsibilities included regional board
relations and engagement, fundraising & development, special event
planning, cultivating regional partnerships with key community
stakeholders, volunteers and foundations, media relations & public
speaking, strategic planning, and more.
Consultant - Non-Profit Management
Served multiple non-profit organizations within the Greater Cincinnati
area in
all aspects of development and strategic planning including but not
limited to, individual
donor and major gift cultivation, corporate sponsorships, board
development,
special events planning, and grant writing. Organizations varied in
size
and scope with total annual operating budgets ranging from $500,000 to
$1M.
Associate, Development - United Way of Greater Cincinnati
Provided support to an annual workplace fundraising campaign of over
$10 M. Managed activities within portfolio to ensure goals and
objectives were attained, also provided staff leadership and technical
support to volunteers. Cultivated community and corporate
relationships critical in attaining goals and objectives.
Executive Director - United Way of St. Charles, Louisiana
In collaboration with the Board of Directors served as the Executive
Director and fiscal agent responsible for organizational fundraising,
financial stewardship, staffing, and recruitment of board members
reflecting the diversity of the community. Other responsibilities
included evaluating and monitoring member agency program
effectiveness, developed and monitored short and long range plans,
planned and coordinated special events, prepared and conducted all
related meetings, crafted annual report, produced marketing content
for print and broadcast, served as liaison to corporate major
donors/sponsors, community members and charitable foundations, as well
as implemented multiple community impact & organizational initiatives.
Successfully raised over $2.1 M in post Katrina FY '05 economy in
addition to writing and receiving $300,000 in grant revenues. Grew
donations to over $2.4 M in FY '06. Led implementation of a donor
tracking and communication system (Andar Light).
Dir. of Community Development - United Way of Southern Nevada
Led Commitment to Education initiative targeting children and youth
from birth to high school utilizing United Way of America Community
Impact Model. Monitored over 35 funded agencies including lead
responsibility for "Success By 6 ", a learning initiative targeting
birth to six year olds.
School Board Trustee, District E - Clark County (NV) School District
Successfully organized and conducted campaign for elective office as
school board trustee for the 5th largest and fastest growing school
district in the country. Responsibilities included: oversight of
fiscal and educational activities for over 280,000 students attending
301 schools, employing over 30,000 administrators, teachers and
support staff, with an annual operating budget of over $4 B. Chaired
Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition, served on Debt Management
and Attendance Zone Advisory Commissions; Council of Urban Boards of
Education; Oversight Panel for School Facilities, and School Naming
and School Safety Committees.
Executive Director - Nevada Tobacco Prevention Coalition (NTPC)
Responsible for all operational aspects including administration, fund
raising, fiscal management, event planning, volunteer coordination,
supervision of staff and independent contractors; monitoring of
grants, daily interaction with 40+ member organizations statewide;
oversight of statewide strategic and communication plan,
implementation of a legislative campaign to ban smoking in certain
public places. Accomplishments included: doubling membership of the
organization; securing over $1.2 M of additional resources through
various grants and fundraising; national recognition by the Robert
Woods Johnson Foundation, and recipient of an Electronic Media Award
for best non-profit website. Selected by the Advocacy Institute to
participate in the '02 Leadership Fellows Program for tobacco control
advocates.
