Boulder Community Hospital - Boulder, CO (4/82 - 1/94) - Office Coordinator. Began working as a part-time Secretary in the Volunteer Services Department, in addition to other hospital departments as needed. As the department grew, I was promoted to full-time, Administrative Office Coordinator. Responsibilities included general office duties as well as assisting with the supervision of over 300 volunteers. I interviewed and placed pre-med students from the University of Colorado, who were seeking volunteer positions within the Emergency Room, as well as interviewing and scheduling other candidates for volunteer positions throughout the hospital, referring them to service chairmen for training. I coordinated children’s tours, maintained a database in Word Perfect, supervised the mailing of the volunteer newsletter, and arranged meetings and recognition awards ceremonies for volunteers and Candy Stripers. Prior to this position, I volunteered in various departments or patient contact areas throughout the hospital.
