SUMMARY
With $3.4 billion in assets - successful at building and leading the
accounting team of a top performing private REIT majority owned by one of
the country's oldest real estate investment companies with fund investments
from ground-up development, execution of asset repositioning and
acquisition of stabilized assets. Investment structures have included 100%
acquisitions, preferred equity investments, mezzanine loans and structured
joint ventures. With 9 year as a senior accountant for a regional CPA firm,
I managed audit and forensic engagements and prepared corporate,
partnership, personal and trust and estate tax returns. I am successful at
developing strong working relationships with institutional and high net
worth investors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER FUNCTIONS
. Provide leadership and oversight over accounting staff assuring timely
and accurate recording of financial data
. Maintain fixed asset system to accurately record additions and
deletion of assets and to properly record monthly depreciation, FAS 13
and FAS 141 amortizations
. Review or prepare monthly journal entries of deferred real estate
taxes, pre-paid insurance and other accrued expenses
. Review or prepare monthly operating, escrow and investment bank
statement reconciliations
. Process and properly record monthly management fees, investor
distributions and capital calls when required.
. Facilitate and monitor monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
. Facilitate and review monthly, quarterly and yearly cash, tax and GAAP
basis financial statements
. Assist in preparing budget to actual variance analysis and reforecast
capital expenditures if necessary
. Prepare estimated income tax, sales/use tax, real estate tax,
business/property tax returns
. Oversee the accounting and reporting of construction and tenant
improvement projects, process permits, maintain blueprints, permits,
plans and specifications, lien waivers and certificate of insurance
. Provide support to closing attorneys and properly record acquisition
of properties from closing settlement statements
. HR support monitoring payroll processing; quarterly 941, annual 944, W-
2 and 1099 reporting and evaluating 401 K plans and other benefits
