Health Unit Coordinator (Unit Secretary)
As a HUC, I help keep the unit organized and coordinate communication between patients and
medical staff. As a coordinator, I act a primary contact for the unit greeting and checking in
patient’s daily I am responsible for creating charts for new admissions, answering the unit phones;
averaging approx.100+ calls from staff and family members, transcribing (not dictation) of doctor’s
orders, ordering of various labs, procedures, breaking down the chart after a patient is discharged
and anything else the doctor may order. I help to increase the patient’s satisfaction goal up to
85%, by providing exceptional good care to the patients daily. Other duties may include:
• Stocking the supply room and Ordering office supplies
• Stocking the printers & fax machines with paper,
• Compiling the Medication Administration Records (MAR) for the nurses.
• Updating the Kardex on patients, running labs to the lab on-site and any other unit specific
duties.
I have been a HUC for approx.3 years and have worked on numerous departments/unit.

Inpatient/Outpatient Admissions Rep
Daily I was responsible for seamless entry into the hospital in a timely, efficient and customer
focused manner. The Admissions department is often the first contact the patient has with the
hospital and is entrusted with responsibility of providing a positive first image to the patient/family.
My daily functions include: collecting complete and accurate demographic, financial and clinical
information during registration to facilitate appropriate patient care and reimbursement; facilitating
patient placement and transfers on the care units; pre-admission activities; preparing reports for
distribution; responding to patients questions or concerns: and informing the patients of their
rights, responsibilities, and other required information. While working as an Admissions Rep, I
would often help and relieve the main switchboard operator during lunch, and/or as needed. Also,
I would help out with Human Resources as an acting assistant. I would call potential candidate to
come in to complete new hire paperwork. I would proofread new hire paperwork to ensure
accuracy before submitting to Home Office.

Responsible daily for receiving referrals from doctor’s offices to contact patients to get them

Accounts Receivable Specialist/Administrative Billing Support

ensured that all invoices are properly approved. Also, I entered online billing adjustments to
