Program Development – Wet standards computer program development,

implementation, and maintenance. The program consists of a database (log)
linked to a label printing program formatted to be consistent with current HMIS
format. This program is used by both the wood lab and the manufacturing plant
as a tool for keeping record of all standards, their production and expiration
dates, and all health and safety data provided by the HMIS labeling system.
Additional responsibilities include operating, maintaining and coordinating
•
calibration on our atomic absorption unit for heavy metals analysis and our GC
for solvent analysis, as well as various other industry specific testing
equipment(s). My responsibilities for the AA and GC units also involve changing,
monitoring and ordering all gas tanks for the execution of the above mentioned
analyses. I, solely, operated the AA unit (through assigned lab projects) to assure
that the oxide pigments we purchase produce concentrates that are within
compliance specification limits for lead content. Additionally, I was singularly
responsible for the investigation and research of various new microscopes (for
our lab) to be utilized for polymer film analysis with superior microscopy and
photo imaging capabilities. This (Olympus) microscope has been purchased,
and is in the process of being implemented as a tool that will enable our lab to
investigate film deformations without the use of our analytical lab’s services.
As a development chemist, I am responsible for following first time plant
•
production on all formularies I maintain. This involves working with plant
production personnel and implementing their recommendations for
manufacturing equipment and production procedures that result in higher OTMIS
batches made via efficient, effective, and safe practices.
