Profile

I’ve worked in a variety of pharmacies: hospitals doing pediatric and adult medicine; also in

community; home health; and military pharmacies. I work really hard to meet the needs of each

of my patients. I care about the final result, the satisfaction of a person being helped and I take

the time to improvise and improve processes.

intravenous products. I work closely with my co-workers to include physicians, nurse

practitioners, psych technicians, pharmacy technicians, unit nurses, and information technology.

requires help staffing. I am able to walk in and work with a varying staff and patients. I have

CUREs registration to prevent unauthorized use and abuse of controlled medications. I’m also

International Medical Relief April 18-28 2013

Worked as a pharmacist on a team with 4 providers and 3 nurses. I improvised for medications

to cover patient’s needs when the stock did not match the order. Gave water to people who had

none. Packed, unpacked, inventoried, and worked hard. This was an incredible opportunity and

I met many special people. A smile speaks a thousand words.

Model Drug Staff Pharmacist in Long Term Care Pharmacy Nov 2012- March 2013

Worked in a closed-door environment processing many data entry orders online for several

nursing homes and assisted living facilities. I provided clinical review for all orders especially in

elderly patient care. Pharmacokinetics services along with accessing problem sets were

addressed. Technicians worked to fill orders for pharmacists to check prior to being sent to the

facilities. I helped coordinate delivery of product. I worked with the physicians and nurse to

find the medication that is covered by Medicare A.

Save Mart pharmacy Staff Pharmacist November 2011 – August 2012

Worked in a grocery store atmosphere with one or two extra tech and/or clerk dependent on time

and production. Provided community pharmacy services while learning the customer’s names

and needs. Rang up customers on the registers in order to relieve my staff for other duties.

Wal Mart Pharmacy Staff Pharmacist May 2009 – October 2011

Working in Tulare as a staff pharmacist – processing prescriptions, filling, counseling patients.

Identifying medications. Answering questions from medical prescribers about medications.

Registered with DOJ to do patient activity reports online. I knew many of the customers by name

as they choose to wait for me for pharmacy consults. We were busy but the customer standing

in front of me always got my attention.

Longs Drugs now CVS 2008 2009

When the newest Longs store opened I was hired for the PIC position. I built my customer base,

inventory, staff to exact Longs standards. CVS purchased Longs in October 2008. Again I

remained as PIC and converted the store having met all requirements prior to timeline. I knew

each of my customers by name. I knew their family stories. Local physicians and PAs called me

to ask questions about medication and dosing. I am “wired” to have access to formularies and

ICD codes so that I could help the physicians find the preferred product usually done without the

patient knowing.

I began my PIC position in the original Hanford Wal-Mart. I coordinated the move to the

superstore and stayed as PIC for 3 years. I hold the record for number of prescriptions
