are vital to succeed in any task, whether it is related to academic studies or working as a professional.

WORK EXPERIENCE
2005 - Present: Smart Print (London NW10)
My responsibilities include; dealing with customers face to face, via email and also over the
phone, keeping a tidy workplace, managing accounts and paperwork, coordinating several
different machines to finish the majority of jobs running in the shop. I have gained skills in
printing from Digital Press and finishing jobs e.g. making of NCR pads, numbering, perforation,
collation, lamination, creasing & stitching
This has been a good experience for me as it has enabled me to plan multiple tasks and be able
to finish them to their individual deadlines. In addition to this, working here has improved my
practical skills and given me a greater understanding of the mechanics, apparatus and
technology required for efficiency
Throughout my time at Smart Print I have gained vital experience in planning tasks and achieving
goals, alongside the input and analysis of data for quality control and to constantly evaluate
performance. These experiences have enabled me to improve my time management skills as I
have maintained my achievements in my studies.
10/11/13 – Present: Banooda Aid Foundation (Fulham, London SW6)
Banooda Aid Foundation is a Tuition Centre catering for children from Reception Class up until
GCSE Level. The subjects taught are Mathematics, English and Science. I teach at this centre once
a week, providing the students with help and support with their homework as well as extra
studies. Working here requires great communication skills in order to effectively help the
students with their studies and to understand any difficulties they may have.
25/07/11 – Present: Royal Mail (West London)
My primary duties involve sorting letters and parcels but I also have to maintain a clean and tidy
working environment at all times to comply with Health & Safety Regulations
Once the sorting is complete I have to carry out deliveries either by foot or by van, whichever is
necessary for each delivery
This position requires a great deal of trust and honesty because it involves dealing with other
people’s mail, which includes confidential items such as bank details, personal items and letters
etc. It is of high importance to look after each and every letter and parcel and ensure it is
delivered to the correct address
20/06/11 – 20/06/13: Queen Mary University of London (London E1)
Whilst studying at university I held a Student Ambassador position, which I was specifically
chosen for. Mainly I had to help out on Open days and Taster Course days
My responsibilities included; greeting students at the start of the day, taking a register for
attendance, helping the Teaching Assistants set up tasks and activities for the day, helping them
pack up at the end of the day as well as supervising and helping students get on with their tasks
and activities
23/10/10 – 08/01/11: John Lewis (London W1)
I held a temporary part time role at John Lewis during the Christmas period. I was a stockroom
assistant, a member of the supply chain team
My responsibilities consisted of bringing out items from the stock rooms to fill up the shelves,
working alongside other colleagues to ensure the shelves on the shop floor are always full
Whilst on the shop floor filling up the shelves, frequently I willingly helped customers who
needed assistance on the shop floor
12/05/09 – 07/07/10: Cancer Research UK (West London UB6)
This was a part time role which I volunteered for whilst studying for my A Levels
My responsibilities were to sort out donations, price items and place them out on the shop front,
keep a clean work area at all times and to deal with customers needing any assistance
I enjoyed working for Cancer Research because I felt satisfaction in the fact that I was engaging
with a well-known charity and devoting my time to help others in need
30/06/08 – 04/07/08: BSS Associates (London W2)
This was a 1 week work experience scheme I had to do at BSS Associates, Registered Auditors &
Chartered Accountants after I finished my GCSEs
During this work experience I developed my skills in working with Microsoft Excel, inputting data
& analysing it. I also developed my communication skills when dealing with customers
SKILLS & ACHIEVEMENTS
I have achieved my Bronze & Silver in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. I have completed a first aid
training course with St Johns Ambulance as part of my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in
2005. I also did an introductory Police Course as part of my Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award, with
the metropolitan police in the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham in 2006. This involved a one
off weekend street cleaning project in the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham
I have held a clean full UK driving licence since April 2009
I have proved to myself that with desire, motivation and confidence I can effectively attempt
highly demanding tasks. It is with this mindset, during my GCSE course, I challenged myself and
succeeded in the Coast to Coast cycling expedition, cycling from Penrith to Newcastle-Upon-Tyne
within 5 days. This is one of the best achievements I have; it was an immensely demanding task,
which I enjoyed very much and it required a great amount of effort and self-motivation
I have been on several camping expeditions in the Cadair Idris region of Wales, as part of my
Duke of Edinburgh’s Award; each expedition lasted for 3 days and 2 nights. On these expeditions
our group had to pre plan our own meals and our route
I have been involved in landscaping a garden which involved; removing overgrowth, laying paving
slabs, soiling, digging and sowing. I also have experience in painting & decorating. This
demonstrates inevitably important DIY skills
Throughout my A Levels I was also involved in the school community, helping at many events;
open evenings, managing a stall at World Food Day and raising funds for charity events within
the school. I was also voted prefect by my peers, a role which required good communication and
teamwork skills to work alongside the other prefects and under the Head Boy and Girl
