Brought in to spearhead formalized training and communications throughout the two facilities
and the sales force for this expanding manufacturing company that utilizes the latest EDM
technology (contract)
General Manager/Plant Manager, Torco Inc., Marietta, GA 4/05 – 6/13
Championed and Rejuvenated a 57-year-old family owned company with about 100
employees that specializes in precision-machined screw machines, CNC & ground components
for the automotive, agriculture, industrial, aerospace and fastener industries.
Responsibilities include Profit & Loss, cash flow, profitability of manufacturing, setting up sales
force, increasing sales, replacing aging work force, safety, updating equipment, develop bid
model encompassing all company costs, and MRP system, lead lean manufacturing practices.
Since 2008, added tasks of scheduling and running factory, quality manager, and all purchasing.
Accomplishments Reduced setup times on 38% of products (225 part numbers) through
Lean/Kaizen by sales evaluation, product flow and setup reduction (reduced labor by over
15,000 hrs per yr). Thru cell creation, and strategic planning, shipped 11% more product using
16% less labor. Increasing sales by 11% in first 3 years, and increased profitability 17% over 5
years. 100% on time delivery to all customer for 7 straight years. Doubled our business with
John Deere by obtaining their highest supplier rating (Partnership), reduced overtime 80%.
Isolated specific and significant equipment turnaround issues; solved by setting up a 40 hour
Value Stream Mapping training program from John Deere & Georgia Tech; outcome was a 16K
labor hour savings and 90% reduction in overtime first year.

Led Hikari USA Inc the first US facility for 61-year-old Hikari Seiko Co. LTD out of Japan. A
startup facility, which is a tier 1 & 2 supplier for Ford, Nissan & Toyota. Hikari supplies precision
machined, heat treated (both batch & induction) and ground metal components.
Led construction and renovation of a new 75,000 sq. ft facility, coordinated equipment shipped
from Japan through US ports, PPAP all products, responsible for P&L and personally
performed every aspect of all supervisory and management aspects of the operations.

Selected to organize and lead a move to a new 80,000 square foot facility, responsible for P&L
and everything within the four walls of the facility.
