Objective

Seek for technical position in materials science or chemical engineering process

Experience

Intern, Agiltron Inc. Woburn, MA May 2012-April 2013

Performed lab development and research on multiple projects.

• Synthesis of VO2 nanoparticles -- utilized a hydrothermal method to synthesize VO2 (B) nanoparticles.

• Synthesis of α-MnO2 nanotubes Single crystal α-MnO2 nanotubes were synthesized by hydrothermal method to serve as catalyst for lithium-air batteries.

• Fabrication of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) based saturable absorber for femtosecond fiber laser Single walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were introduced into a polymer matrix with low diffraction index to serve as a saturable absorber in a fiber laser system.

• Synthesis of graphene oxide for membrane separation Graphene oxide was synthesized by an improved method. The membrane was fabricated by vacuum filtration so as to separate alcohol and water.

Research Assistant, Dept. Material Science & Engineering, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA Feb. 2009 –April 2012

• Synthesis of TiO2 Nanoparticles for Biological Applications -Developed a sol-gel method to synthesize uniform nano-size TiO2 particles, and create a TiO2 thin film for biological tests.

• Fabrication of Carbon Based Nanostructured Materials -Synthesized graphene based materials (TiO2/graphene) to enhance lithium-ion batteries performance, i.e. Capacities and cycling life.

• Nanocomposite and Nanoimprinting Interface – Embedded CNTs into anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) templates study mechanical interfacial properties.

Research Assistant, Nanjing University of Technology, Nanjing, China Sept 2005-Jun 2008

Adsorption to Recover Ethylene from Industrial Off-gas – Studied ethylene from industrial off-gas of ethylene oxide equipment by pressure swing adsorption(PSA), two different adsorbents, activated carbon, self-made adsorbent were researched.

Education

Ph.D., Material Science & Engineering, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA. Jan 2014

M.S., Chemical Engineering, Nanjing University of Technology, Nanjing, China Jun 2008

B.S., Chemical Engineering, Nanjing University of Technology, Nanjing, China Jun 2005

Special Skills

Very experienced in multiple analytic instrument operation, such as Scanning electronic microscopy(SEM), Transmission electronic microscopy(TEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD), Atomic force microscopy(AFM), Chromatogram, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), UV-Vis meter, and Computer Assistant Design (CAD)
