Accountable Property Manager

The Accountable Property Manager is responsible for the inventory of all assets deployed to the Federal

Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Joint Field Offices. Deployed to more than 30 disaster

recovery sites in and outside Region 6 (Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico) over a

5 year period to receive, manage and effectively recover all non-expendable Federal assets (equipment)

to then be shipped back to their respective locations for storage and future deployment if reusable.

Accountable property, once received and verified is then distributed to the departments (set up within

the field office) and to the individuals that staff them as is necessary to assist them in their efforts to

accomplish the mission of disaster recovery. An ongoing inventory is kept to ensure it is always

accurate in terms of quantity and location. At such time when it is determined the field office and the

employees mission is complete, all assets are then recovered, (returned to the property manager)

inventoried again and transferred back to their original locations.
