OBJECTIVE
To have plenty experience in life for new challenges regardless the duties
I might have to perform and prepare them for my
success in the future.
EDUCATION
UC Santa Barbara Santa Barbara, CA
Bachelor's Degree, Spanish GPA: 3.01 September 2009 - March 2013
EXPERIENCE
CINNABON Montclair, CA
Cashier/costumer service/clerk September 2008 - September 2009
Cinnabon is one of the places in which I practiced my skills and early
potential. This is considered a food and beverage
restaurant where I used to serve the costumer. My duties were to make,
bake, and prepare the bread rolls or any other sweet
snacks. I also cleaned, and fixed the store furniture as well as cashier
duties. It was my first official job where I learned the
basics of pure labor.
Teen Value Council Community Service Team Pomona, CA
Treasurer September 2008 - July 2009
A community service team where I volunteered in my senior year of high
school. It was organized mostly by teenagers where
we helped the community with duties that the city did not have to pay us
for. I was part of the leaders or board members and
former treasurer. My responsibilities were to take care of money and kept
records of payments that people had made and to
decide how or on what that money was going to be spent on. This was a very
helpful experience and helped me a lot in my
development of clerical duties and more serious responsibilities.
Home Depot Goleta/Upland, CA
Cashier/store associate May 2012 - June 2013
My official title was cashier and I was responsible of to check people's
items as accurate and speedy as possible. I also
provided great costumer service in and out of my station around the store.
I followed my supervisor's orders to whatever they
wanted me to do. Here I learned the tactics of retail and sales marketing
acquiring more knowledge and experience.
Autozone in Montclair, CA
Commercial driver/Sales associate October 2013-Present
As a commercial driver my daily tasks included inspection and cleaning of
our delivery vehicles. Check our list of products
we needed to deliver to our commercial costumers. Receive payments, core
returns or bill statements from them. Assist my
managers in any other duties. I also helped in the front of the store
assisting costumers, answering phone questions, stocking,
cleaning, installing certain car parts on people's cars, etc. There were
different tasks everyday and in Autozone I learned a lot
about cars and merchandise and it sure helped my in my individual success.
SKILLS
- My experiences with costumer service and community involvement have
helped me be more adaptable to high stress jobs.
- I was elected as one of the board member leaders of my community service
team. As a treasurer, I have gained experience
with financial bookkeeping, handling money as a cashier, and with office
duties as well.
- I consider myself advanced with computers (PC or MAC). I know how to use
Microsoft Works perfectly
(Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- I am bilingual; I speak, read and write both English and Spanish
perfectly well.
- I could be good at most sports, which makes me an active person.
- I always carry a positive attitude to any job regardless the duties I
might have to perform. If I don't know how to perform
certain tasks I always ask and demand it to be taught to me so I can
perform them as well.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Like I currently expressed in my 'Experience' and 'Skills' sections, I did
community service for almost a year and was really
involved in it dedicating my free time to my community's well being.
LEADERSHIP INVOLVEMENT
As a treasurer in my community service team I was participant of
extracurricular activities supervising other teenagers. Being
a leader in your community makes you feel motivated and proud of the things
you are capable of. I always look forward to
meet with new people and learning different jobs, for me the more
experience I have, the more opportunities I will get in life
and I won't let any opportunity get away.
