Lab assistant in Dr. Immo Hansen's Vector Physiology lab at NMSU- we researched vector
physiology using Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes as a model. I also was in charge of my own
experiment- The Effects of Competition on Offspring Fitness using Aedes Aegypti larvae.
Other duties included anesthesia, dissection and imaging of adults to research how the
hydrophobic environment inside their abdomens prevented them from becoming
infected with malaria virus.
I am a founding member of the Zeta Phi chapter of the Sigma Chi fraternity at New Mexico
State and held the positions of Magister (New Member Instructor), Recruitment Officer and
Chapter Secretary in addition to other duties as an active founder.
