Commerce position. As a former journalist and marketing director, I have managed
communication projects and news products for more than 30 years.
Most recently, I managed marketing projects in the tourism publishing and eMedia
world. My clients included State Tourism Offices, resort management
organizations, such as Miraval Resort and Spa as well as Canyon Ranch Resort and
Spa; destination management organizations, such as Alabama Gulf Shores
Convention and Visitors Bureau, St. Charles, IL Convention and Visitors Bureau,
Chicago Tourism, JW Marriott San Antonio, and actually hundreds of CVB’s in
dozens of states.
This entailed acting as a marketing sales consultant and account manager on
dozens of campaigns, as well as the project manager for our exclusive travel
section in O the Oprah Magazine. Campaigns included newspaper insert with
online integration, Visitor Guides, FaceBook Fan Generati on, Rich Media Banner
Search Engine Marketing.
Previous experience includes working for more than 20 years as a journalist. This
included as managing editor, acting news director, field producer, and television
reporter, in the Phoenix and Tucson markets. My combined experience provides
me with complete understanding of the project management and sales, as well as
motivation of staff.

Further, along those lines, I have actually conducted and been part of workshops
for non-profits on how to develop and elicit coverage from reporters and
assignment editors, an often tough task for non-profits.
