While attending AIM received specialized training to keep aircraft in peak
operating condition by performing scheduled maintenance, rebuilds,
overhauls for each individual aircraft, troubleshoot problems, made
repairs, and completed inspections required by the Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA).
Specialized in preventative maintenance (including rebuilds/overhauls) of
airframes and power plants, landing gear, instruments, brakes, valves,
pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, rigging, carburetors, fuel injectors
systems, de-icing and anti-ice systems, and performed the necessary
maintenance and replacement of parts.
Received specialized training in the use of precision measuring instruments
(micrometers and vernier calipers) to measure parts for wear as well as out
of round, performed dye penetrant inspection and magnetic particle
inspection to check for invisible cracks and discontinues.
Repaired sheet metal and composite surfaces by riveting and composite lay-
ups using carbon fiber, kevlar and fiber glass, measured the tension of
control cables, and check for corrosion, distortion, and cracks in the
fuselage, wings, control surfaces and tail.
After completing all repairs testing of the equipment/repair was done to
ensure that it worked properly and meet manufacturer and FAA standards.
Trained in proper writing and completion of FAA documents and other various
paper work associated with aviation including logbook entries, form 337,
malfunction and dysfunction reports, part requests. All IAW FAA and FAR
standards.
