FINAL YEAR PROJECT

RF based home automation system

The project was based on RF signal to control the electrical household

appliances at 230v ac supply.The main objective of the project is automation of

home loads using RF technology.in order to achieve this, a programmable

microcontroller of 8051 family was used.it consisted of a transmitter and a

reciever.the transmitter section consisted of switches to on/off loads.this signal is

encoded and transmitted using RF transmitter.these signals are received by the

reciever and decoder decodes the signal and this data is fed to Microcontroller

which gives signal to the arrangement to switch on/off the loads.the power supply

consists of a step down transformer 230/12V,which steps down the voltage to 12V

AC.this was converted to DC using a bridge rectifier and it is then regulated to +5V

using a voltage regulator 7805 which is required for the operation of the

microcontroller and other components.
