Professional Experience
Becton Dickinson – Franklin Lakes, NJ June 2013 –
Current
R&D Lab Technician
• Executed an array of analytical tests on syringes implementing the use of the Instron, specialized leakage
pressure machine, and microscope
• Organize, analyze, and report data utilizing Minitab, Excel, and Access
Mondelez International/Kraft Foods – East Hanover, NJ September 2012 – June 2013
R&D Lab Technician
• Performed a variety of testing including powder flow testing, Dynamic Scanning Calorimeter, and 3-point
bend test
• Reported and analyzed results using Excel and the appropriate software for each instrument.
Arthrex Inc. – Naples, FL
R&D Lab Technician (CO-OP) January – December 2011
• Originally a 6 month CO-OP, extended to a year based upon demonstration of strong skills and work ethic
• Designed different material degradation studies to simulate the mechanical(Instron) and chemical
changes(Viscometer, Gas Chromatography, and DSC) an orthopedic implant undergoes in a patient
• Researched and presented findings on potentially beneficial material technologies for the orthopedic industry
including silicon infused bioglass and mesenchymal stem cells
• Maintained a level of efficiency in the lab by keeping supplies stock, organization, and increasing lab safety by
updating the MSDS and ordering spill kits
• Reported succinct summaries of results graphically (Excel) and numerically with statistics(Sigmaplot and
Origin)
• Dissected and harvested human cadavers for testing purposes and trial procedures
Lab Projects
Engineer a 3mm Artery August 2010 – December 2010
• Manipulated multiple polymers(PLA and PCL) for different mechanical properties (elasticity, tensile and rupture
strength)
• Fabricated scaffolds employing multiple polymer processes for different layers, including salt leaching and
electrospinning methods
• Implemented cell seeding techniques in order to have smooth muscle cells adhere and proliferate
Design Collagen Skin Scaffold Fall 2009
• Utilized bovine collagen to grow a scaffold that could be used as skin tissue
• Investigated multiple cross linking methods such as glycosaminoglycans (GAG) and Glutaraldehyde
• Analyzed the mechanical properties (Young’s Modulus, elasticity) of the scaffold with an Instron
Leadership/College Activities
• Re-founding Brother of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity Vice President 2010 2008- 2012
• Member of CWRU Crew Team 2007-2008
