Nursing supervisor for 11 am-7pm shift. 135 bed facility housing
some long term care residents to mostly residents who have had
surgery and need a place for rehabilitation. We have an internal
rehabilitation center and gym that rates 5-star. My duties
include taking all the M.D./N.P. orders off every day and
transcribing them to ensure they are followed through. I order
all lab work for mew admissions and watch for and note all
abnormal labs for MD to address. I write all the admission
papers for new admits to our facility, which can be as many as
6-7 per day. I handle consults for residents to fu and make sure
they have their appointments scheduled in a timely manner. I am
in charge and manage needs for 7 nurses and multiple CAN's during
the day. I follow a very close report with our Nurse
Practitioner who is in-house 5 days a week.

I was a third shift supervisor and Charge nurse as well. This is
a 100 bed facility. We had an independent housing village,
independent apartment living, and apartments for patients who
need some assistance. There we had a care and wellness center
where I was assigned. This also houses an Alzheimer's unit, and a
Rehab floor. I care for usually 20 patients and the entire
community of residents if anything should arise through the
night. I also managed three other nurses and usually seven CAN's
on duty. I did computer work and MARS each month, handled family
issues when they came up, or just about anything that needed to
be handled at the facility.
