Education & Credentials
EPA Universal Certification, 2003
A.A.S, 2010
DeVry University (G.P.A. 3.2/4.0)
Senior Project – Two Speaker Intercom System & Voice Changer
• Equipment used was an oscilloscope to check the frequency waveforms, a function
generator to supply power to the system, a multimeter to test components, Multisim
software to design a prototype of the actual project, and a breadboard to test the
functionality
• Assembled and soldered two individual circuit boards from schematics for a half-duplex
communication system
• Tested and remodeled the system to eliminate noise feedback through speaker system
• Customized the speaker system with a voice changer with five different voice tones that
alternated with every outgoing signal
• IC’s used were the WIN8072 and LM386
• Presented and demonstrated final project to students and faculty
Professional Experience
pOLYCHEM Chicago Heights, IL.
Maintenance Technician, February 2013 to Present
Prepared batches for an array of chemical conversion types like Amines and Resins. Among the
practiced commercial chemistry are: condensation reaction, free radical polymerizations and Lewis
acid alkylation reactions. Amines are a derivative of Ammonia. Key Results:
Proficient in the use of boilers, furnaces, air compressors, cooling towers, buffer systems,
vacuum systems, condensers, agitators, cylinders, and various other processes
Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, including but not limited to: repair, replace,
and fabricate valves, piping, hoses, centrifugal & diaphragm pumps, pneumatic actuators, and
solenoids, as well as install, design, and replace 3 phase 480v motors, relays, start/stop controls,
transformers, contactors, conduit “EMT” & “Rigid”, transducers, and data loggers
Perform work to free blockages within closed systems, e.g. clogged oil lines, waste lines etc.
Monitor and maintain water, and temperatures levels for the boilers, and cooling towers
Perform production of all chemicals both manually & automated; closing and opening valves
and controls throughout the plant, as well as using Intellution 7.0 customer software and Allen-
Bradley controls
Perform recovery of nonhazardous waste from reactors; checking the pH balance to ensure
proper levels are reached, as well as fill cylinders and check faulty valves using nitrogen to
ensure there is adequate flow of chemicals from cylinders
PROGRESS RAIL East Chicago, IN.
Production Mechanic II, October 2012 to January 2013
Serviced & repaired AC/DC train motors for customers like Amtrak, Metra, CN, & New Jersey
Transit. Always ensuring top quality work. Key Results:
Performed a full tear down of most motors using pneumatic tools such as impact wrenches,
grinders, sanders, & wire brushes
Replaced or repaired defective parts according to the customer’s specifications using
micrometers & calipers
Performed electrical tests up to 5000VDC & VAC, such as a megger testing to determine the
condition of the insulation & a hi pot test to determine the amount of current flowing; making
sure the insulation is good, as well as an oscilloscope to test all AC motors
Performed armature repairs using a lathe machine; cutting to tolerances 0.001
Performed final testing of all motors, which included connecting direct voltage to the motors
and conducting tests at intervals of 500 RPM, 1000 RPM, 1500 RPM, & 2000 RPM; to ensure
there is no arcing and the commutator brushes are seated properly
CATERPILLAR Joliet, IL
Hydraulic Technician, June 2012 to September 2012
Assembled and tested hydraulic cylinders and struts for mining trucks with size and pressure
weighing up to 400 tons. Key Results:
Assembled hydraulic units ranging from 30 to 400 tons using blueprints & bill of material
Used heavy cranes to position and setup equipment for assembly & testing
Performed assembly using pneumatic tools such as impact wrenches & torque wrenches
Performed pressure testing on all units using proprietary computer software & entered all data
of measurement readings into excel
Analyzed & diagnosed malfunctions & made necessary adjustments and repairs
PANDUIT New Lenox, IL
Machine Operator, June 2010 to November 2011
Machined electrical conductors and performed quality testing using micrometers & calipers Key
Results:
Responsible for the setup and operation of punch press, which involves the calibration and
alignment of die molds up to 5 tons; using computer numerical controls, and switches to lock the
die in place
Operated & setup automatic saw machine to cut electrical conduit tubing ranging from 3/4in. to
6in. in size
Setup chamfer machine to perform ID cutting, which required manual adjustments to prevent
burrs; especially in the 3/4in. tubing
Performed quality checks on the width, length, depth, ID, and OD of all machined parts;
ensuring that all tolerances fall into specifications with most being 0.001, and made necessary
adjustments, and maintenance on all machines keeping safety first
